Not yet, but I know of a certain How to Prepare a Ford Sierra for Motorsport book that seems to have a large portion of it on differentials. Haven't read most of it yet though...

Actually all that is about setting up the ring and pinion gears.

Grant, you really ought to print out all thos books and flip thru them until mere oblique references bring forth vivid recollections.

Actually everybody should. They're simple, sober and organised, clear.
and specific enough that ideas can be robbed over to anything nearly.

Haven't read the diff rebuild part multiple times. The pics and rest I've scoured over so mayn times I wouldn't even try to count. Same goes for some sections of the Escort original and the Escort WRC.

Why do you ask about the clutch plate rebuilds? We'll have to do it soon, also.

Center diff first, though. If you have the stock 4kg center diff then upgrade to at least the 20kg STi center diff before you spend any money on the rear diff.

Ive had my hands in 100's of LSD's over the years .. Its does look nice ...

BUT ............. Why the hell carbon plates .. ???

Hope it does not act like carbon brakes and clutch do ...

Was there any thing wrong with the old school style plates ?..They seem to work..When set up right .."I" feel most plate LSD need a restack of the plates to be right ..And I've had my hands in alot of them... Most are real loooose on the plate stack the way they are stock..

Why is it in this time we live in "new is good and old is bad"... crazy

As for putting it in the front or rear of a AWD car ... You a guy who whats your AWD car "to act sort of like" a FWD car or a RWD car .. Whats your driving style ..? You want your car to be pulled from the front or pushed from the rear.. "I" live in a RWD world so its the rear for me .. Or do all three and get a AWD car back again but all three can make a car 'feel heavy' when you turn ...

(And driving style is hard to see by a driver by the way..Ask someone whos road with you at speed what "your" style is .. You maybe shocked at what they say...)

Have fun

David

That's part of what I was trying to figure out, if their claims of 'carbon vs. metal' plates is true.

I guess carbon has a lot of uses....

I've had that happen before. Multiple times.
