No, doubting---questioning people who have done these things we do here for maybe double the time you've been on the earth is 'not being human" its being presumptuous. That's the way I read it, and Timm that's the way a lot of people have said they read your words too.

I build an awful lot of everything, FWD, RWD---for those that are smart, and AWD, where do you get your snide everything based on a rwd car "of about the same size and weight"?

You can ask without it sounding like you're trying to challenge somebody...

Whatever, John. You have a problem with being questioned, whether its from me, or anyone else.

I didnt mean it like that, I was talking about the way Ford engineered it. Its just a crappy design. Thats why they should make some subframes to boot.

John any chances you can make something similar for Hondas?

I like the juxtaposition of the fancy new shite with the drum brakes.

My quick study with a pen, paper and a engineering scale makes me think the car will be stable as it toes in under compression (outside wheel) and toes out in droop. IE it resists over steer. Removing the sway bar does the same if the spring rates etc are the same as before, but I expect it all changed.

Only thing to do is go try it out!

In the long run reality always wins.

Agreed Paul, their main concern obviously was to not impinge on the interior.
We don't have that concern, we want predictable stable movements.
The subframe is incredibly chees-oid on these, and we intend to double skin the pick up plates cause they're THIN!

If we have a bodyshell of the sort needed, why not?
It was on Hondas I first saw this "only stong in the trailing position and ONLY if there are no side force" type flat junk. Now we have Fuck-us, and Vuck-us S-30, and the new Suck-us Impreztled, what not a Huck-us?
or a Honk-us?

Yeah, it's a nice rearend. When we built the class wouldn't allow for that rearend but if I was to build another foci I would definitely upgrade those parts, especially to have the coil over rear end.

Is that the car thats for sale that everyone told him not to rally because he will roll it as he's trying to do "one last rally?"

One thing to consider, the rear in that RS2000 manual is a twist beam suspension, which acts in itself as a sway bar.

edit: I just noticed Frick made that comment in an off thread.

Isn't that how it always works? My VW tried to write itself off at Sno*Drift this year plenty of times. The one moment that almost did it was when I did a 540, in the air, over a crest, on that inch thick ice... at 80+ mph.

Well, it looks kinda like it, but results show Ben Hetland in 16 car, and this is 26 which shows as Kristian Watkins.

Looking at pics of Ben's car on the other site and comparing it to the pic of this rolled Focus, I don't believe that they are the same car. Ben's Focus has a different hood, air dam, and has a big wing on the back.

Also, Ben drove a Datsun 210 at Idaho.

The Focus that rolled is the same one pictured above with the trick TSS/JVL suspension but not the same car that was for sale a while back. Ben was in a Datsun 210 instead of his Focus. Probably a good thing as it was a bad weekend for Foci....
