Someone on the Galant board posted a picture of a WRC car and asked if anyone knew what all those buttons, switches and knobs did. I tried to give him an idea (differentials, bang-bang, fuel/oil/water/ignition, lights, et al), but I thought it would make an interesting topic to learn about.
For once, I'm not posing a question to be a belligerent non-conformist. 
I'm curious - could you share some pictures of your switch panels and thoughts on why you set them up the way you did? What's useful to have on a switch panel? What's not? For me its quicker to reach over and punch a circuit breaker when tracking down annoying wiring problems rather than stopping trouble shooting, wandering aimlessly in my garage looking for fuses, get distracted by some shiney thing, remember i was 'spossed to put that thing back into that box and mark the box then put it up on the top shelf, then wander back to the car, realise I was 'spossed to have found "Electrical Department" and repeat above 3x. So when I'm probing around with the "Pokey Light" (which is the single quickest way to troubleshoot LACK OF JUICE to ________________ in the field,) if I touch something hot it goes "click" I push the buttom in and keep on what I's 'spossed tos be doing: fixing wiring. |
