Who the fuck knows, it's YOUR americanskie fault I still have to put up with this imperial crap in the 21st goddamn century in Canada, where everything else is in damn sensible metric!

20ga = 0.0359" = 0.911mm

Hey John, I made some extras figuring you'd rather work on sheet metal and labor intensive sheet and just buy some of these things cause the are annoying to fab onesey at a time.

Did I ever post piccies of the jack point/sump guard front mount/towing eyes????
Guess i better.

Cheers! John

Well here's some more stuff.
Front combined sump guard front mount/jack point/tow eyelet

Rear tow eyelet/jack point:

Alternator mounts in progress:

Alternator mounts in position on block:

Power steering pump mount:

All the stuff:

The alternator and PS pump mounts are to allow the use of the Cosworth 2wd intercooler in the original position, and to be plumbed in with the shortest possible connecting hoses. The 79-93 Saab 900 turbo radiator is used

Of course there are other things too and all of them are on the jvab.f4.ca or the rallyrace.net/journal pages

Yeah. I agree. I got all excited when I saw the prototypes back in April. Now I'm even more so.

I made an effort to "borrow" the prototypes when I was in Seattle a while back. I can't wait. My "creative" solution for a PS bracket seems to be putting stress on the pump shaft. Still it uses a lawn mower pully and has survived three rallies and numerous rallyXs. No I will not post pictures!

You should post some pictures. I'd love to use a lawnmower part on my car. Then I could one-up my friend Steve and his Suba-stein aka Lego Suby.
Suba-stein specs: 93 Impreza shell, 96 Impreza 2.2L engine/exhaust, 90 Legacy trailing arms, rear sway bar, 01 2.5RS tranny, rear diff, 99 Outback Sport rear halfshafts, 2006 WRX front brakes, 1992 Legacy turbo rear brakes.

oh boyohnoyohboyohboyohboyohboy...While we're thinking about alternators, and having never run anything other than the stock crappy headlights, is 90A sufficient to handle the car and a pod of 4 conventional-filament (non-hid) lights? Being so close to the arctic circle and all, plenty of stages end up finishing in the dark here...

Yeah dp the math, W/v=amp 400w+120w+25 and more for doo dads/14v= lots of over capacity.
That's why I'm doing brackets for the stock 90A alternator. They're good and they're free with every purchase of an Xratty.

Excellent - I already have 2 spare alternators then. I suspect I will wet myself with glee if pictures of a rear beam and trailing arm mounts surface soon, which I assume they will at the rate things seem to be appearing...

John is correct that 90A alternator should work quit well. Just use a good battery as the voltage falls off when the alternator get hot. Probably not a problem up near the Arctic circle until this global warming that the shrub says isn't happen makes things warmer.

We have run a few night stages using stock high beams, 2x Hella 4000, and 2x Hella 500 with out seeing any drop in voltage. I would not expect to see it drop even with 6 total Hella 4000's.

What's the distance between the chassis rails? And what's the drop (rail bottom to mounting surface)? I'm trying to figure out if I can adapt one of these to a Nissan...
