Also cut the fire wall its time to start putting things back together.
I was generous with the cut but I feel that will help with this first fire wall
graft. I cut it back to where we can still bolt the bottom mounts of the dash
down I think that will save some time latter.

William,

You cannot build a fuel tank! Your two options are a stock tank or an FIA fuel cell.

I know, rally is like 10% of all my bizz its important I build a tank for this kit because people
driving a mazda speed 3 are not going to be happy with a fuel cell in there car. I have to think
about everyone that I might be selling this stuff too, and the fact there is enough room
that is awesome.

That'd be listed for $7995 in the metro Boston area nowadays (unless it has 250k miles on it or something). There's a Zetec (or maybe even a CVH) sedan at an area dealer for $7000...excuse me dealer-man, please step away from the crack-pipe.

I find myself completely unable to get excited in any way shape or form about a Focus. Personally, I'd rather build a hot 4G63 and drop it in this:

So a hot motor in some other peace of shit car what dose it matter after that?
focus = shit box
Hyundai Accent = shit box

build a hot duratec
build a hot 4G63

whats the point? just the way it looks?

Focus is also like 500 pounds more than an Accent in weight for one.
I like the Fiesta though.
I think I just like small cars. Ironic considering the size and massive overhang of a Merkur, but okay.

That is ironic since the focus and the merkur are almost exactly the same size.

Yeah within a few mm of same wheelbase.

But Fuckus has relatively zilch for rear overhang---which maybe would a bit more important if the cars were often WAY sideways---
has less overhang front.

BUT!

Xratty is nearly 50/50 weight balance, and obviously works better than anybody here can drive them (who can say what the Fuckedus weight balance is? Nobody wants to know!)

and above all :Are easy and very inexpensive to up-rate to stronger parts

It's that which is driving the idea
Fucked Us shell, sheetmetal doors, glass, hood, headlight, blinkers , dashes all that shuit is EASY, cheap and not too hideous looking...
and the Duratec is a truly an excellent basic engine.

So it seems almost obvious: combine all the easy upgradable driveline parts into an easy available shell of the obviously all round OK size.

Grant, ever been in a Turkish Prison?

The little Fiesta is more or less a Golf sized thing with turnerz accents and a windscreen reclined insanely back, even has a VW like "beam" rear axle.
Yeah it looks like a potentially fun car----but where's the advantage?

Presto: relatively new, relatively inexpensive rwd car

Wonder if it'd be possible to morph a Merkur firewall and tub onto a Focus. Oh wait, we know it is. Remember the Team O'Neil AWD Focus.
I've got a spare shell, maybe if I ever find a free to nearly free Focus I'll give it a shot. I saw a nice looking Focus on the interstate on my way to the butcher. All black, blacked out tails, black wheels, and dark tint. Total night stealth looking.
I would rather have a RWD Focus than any Hyundai or FWD anything.

In RWD form, who knows....TBD

In FWD form, who cares?
And to keep you honest, you are the one who has pointed out for years that the great glorious SAAB enginerds ended up putting the 30+lb battery back up under the hood and over the front (driven) wheels where it belonged. There is no need to demean the radical frontal weight distribution seen on FWD cars---they simply work better that way. The additional traction available for acceleration more than makes up for asking a lot of the front while cornering.
