Yep John, we got extra little goodies all over in the car.
I figure Ford needed to put them on some car so that they could be "production" items so they put them on the Xratties cause the cars were done at Karrmann plant in Germany cause the cars were low volume and specialty. Once they were on some Sierra shell, then anybody could add them when preparing a shell. You can see them in this photo of Skye's car:
