Im making it up as I go on... the fact that this hasn't bit me in the ass just says to me I haven't gotten very far yet. grinning smiley

So, Still messing with the wiring on the body harness... Fixed the wires I wasnt supposed to cut.

Just as I was finishing up it became apparent that the alternator was not charging. I got some time tonight and read up the manual, and realized that Ive got the gauge cluster disconnected.

The battery light, when lighting up during start up is used, like most cars, to excite the fields on the alt. Thats gotta be it...

Tommorrow I get to go find out if I'm right.

And the specific resistance in the light bulb is designed in as part of the start-up field excitation. Keep the same bulb.....or baypass and tyr some power resistors of different ohmages.

I meant to have another update on my last day of last weekend but ive been too nailed at work and just coming home zonked to put any thought into it, but here goes...

First off, really? I figured it was just power. Im keeping the cluster for the time being, and attacking the dash wiring comes later. I got the car basically together again and the lightbulb was the reason for the alt issue so thats nice. Ive got most of the things i want working, working and the rear body harness is now in some split tubing and simplified so i'd call that a win.

Shitty pictures to follow, when im home.

Here we go:
Had to remove the cluster from its usual spot to get to the driver door wiring:

A bunch of the Junk i pulled out- useless wiring, electric window regulators

Last glamour shot before I left for the day:

I wrote all of this, While on break at work here:

Haha, That pic has the seats freshly back in, they were out for a good 3 weeks. I just put em back in because I like to throw it together and drive it around every while, keeps the interest up and reminds me of shite I gotta fix thumbs up

Hey man, If you are going through wiring hell... Keep going. (regards to Winston)

Absolutely, This is an issue for me too. This is why I walk around with a roll of that blue tape and a marker. I leave notes everywhere I feel I have to. My biggest issue here is the legibility of my handwriting grinning smiley

Just an update: no updates for a while.

Fevers, surgery, stuffed full of gauze, recovery and bedridden for a while. Good way to spend the good part of spring...

Hard to gross me out. I've seen yellow, green and black stinky goo oozing out of different holes in a charred hunk-o-meat that once was my leg. Stunk sumpin horrible, and i could see it---4 -12 times a day when they changed the bandages... Vile vile bad infection when you burn the meat to a literal crisp...
