Not to sound condescending ITBs

But I'm pretty certain this is a bit too high tech for most 2WD cars involved in rally in the US, but I thought I'd post it for reference mostly for myself in the future, or if anyone wants to build a rally car with individual throttle bodies and stand alone engine management.

The first company's parts seem a little more legit and builds the sweet direct to head ITBs for Duratec 2.0L engines. The second one has the infamous direct to Weber manifold ITB set which makes ITB's possible for any car that you can find a Weber manifold for.

If you're fabbing anyway, grab a couple Ford truck throttle bodies. I forget the center-center measurement but the 4.9l six uses 40mm x2 throttles (weak) and the 5.0 and 5.8 use 51mm x2 throttles (awesome). I forget what the 7.5l uses, might also be 51mm. The last one we had to get was $25 including the whole upper intake plenum. There are about one bazillion pre-97 EFI Ford trucks out there so they shouldn't be hard to find.

Just went over to mark Spence's place on Sunday to see his new rig that he plans on having ready for rally WV and MaxAttack!.

Mk3 VW golf with 20000000ft of tubing, very nicely done with a VERY built 2.0l 16v on TWN direct to head throttles. 250+HP at the crank!!!

Watch out! He was fast with 115hp in his old car and raced motorcycle enduro stuff professionally world wide for decades...

I've been thinking about something like that for my Talon (with the Neon motor in it) for some time, now. I know you despise them, Grant, but ITBs are a mainstay of the Neon community. I know of two people who run them on their daily driven Neons here in Phoenix. Here's a couple nice shots of one of them...

Its just that some of us would rather actually compete than have a never ending build.
Zing!

Either that or I'm too poor.

Jenvey stuff is definetely high quality but expensive, same with TWM induction stuff. I have seen 100 dollar throttle bodies off 1000cc Gixers and megasquirt run quite impressively. I believe even one of our fellow rallyists has a similar set up- if my memory serves me right with about 135 ponies at the wheel.
If you are serious about ITBs look into mating the "black top" throttle bodies off corollas to your specific motor. These are available in the carribbean as well as South africa.

My dream motor would be an ABF running on 45mm Jenveys, stand alone and 11.5 to 1 compression. But that will take some time to complete. I would like to get fast with my bonestock 1.8liter first.

rally gods would turn in their graves if they ever knew Lada's were now part of EU rallying!!!

Yeah, I won't be running ITBs for a long time, probably never on the Merkur. But Rally Anarchy is kind of a reference to me sometimes about where to find stuff.

I was on the Jenevey site the other day wondering why I shouldn't be going that route since we are looking strongly at fuel injection and a megasquirt setup

I am in the process of parting a silvertop and will have a full set of throttle bodies going up on ebay when I get back in the states around the 5th.

Probably start them at $95 and let it ride, might but a $295 buy it now in there as well.

We've been considering going with ITBs as well, good throttle response, no real downsides except time and money.

If you get the ones off of Honda Motorcycles have the same TPS sensors for Hondas, pretty much just have to fab up the manifold & plenum. Dope. Chrome/Hondata no problem.

If you are running Megasquirt, why do it any other way?
