Breather setups

I need to find a solution for blowby into the intake....yes a brand new motor would be nice, but I have what I have. Any cost effective solutions out there for catch cans?

I used PVC pipe, pipe ends, a drill, brass fittings, and epoxy to make one once. Oh, and a check valve in the bottom to pull the thing out and drain it occasionally.

Brass fittings and a shiny new paint can from home depot. Fill with 3M pads.

Or go hi-tech and use air compressor filters.

Summit has a breather tank with a petcock and filter for under 30 bucks.

What ever you do, make sure that it is baffled or constructed in some other way that makes the oil form into liquid and fall to the bottom of the catch can again.

Many catch cans on ebay, etc., are just containers with two fittings and nothing in them => oil all over the place anyhow.

I used an Ebay can, took it apart (bolted together), soldered some copper pipe to the inlet to get the fumes at least half down into the can. Then filled it with kitchen scrubbing pads (not the steel wool kind - looks more like the stuff you get when you drill metal :-)). Works just fine so far, though I haven't tested it much yet.

Dont use those. Some of my friends have had trouble with them freezing up in the winter and causing seals to blow out.
