I bought the FX semi-prepped. I had to add a few of bars to the cage, and still need to replace a couple of them that are thinner than spec. I bought it in Oregon, but the guy I bought it from had recently driven it up from LA.

Is it Jaques Levy's old car, the red one? Great little car, I've been in it at a few rallycrosses.

I started out with a birthday party with some crazy young friends then after that we hit a dark goth/industial club till about 2:30 am then partied a bit longer till say 4am or so at my home.

Woke up and took a trip down to Portland to spend 2 more nights living like a rock star meeting more nutcases like me. Hit some live bands and dancing. Also got a movie in after I had spent as much time in the pool/ hottub I could stand but it was still too early to go party again.

Drove back to Seattle, went Mt. Biking with some 20yr olds, kicked their asses except on one jump where I landed poorly, IE on my body not the bike. 4 nice wounds, elbow, knee, hip and sholder blade all bleeding. Still a bit stiff.

Tues I put some work in before and after a 1.5 hr session in a Super Decathalon Aerobatic Plane. After work I sailed Pirate Night at the Tues Night Sailboat race called Duck Dodge where we drank much Spiced Rum and Pacifico Beer with Lime in the glorious sun till dark. Yes I was dressed as a Pirate and said shiver me timbers and Arrgh a lot.

Today I put some real work in but am off to pop the foat plane into a mt lake or something here after work... Do not limit your fun to the weekends!

In the long run reality always wins.

I bought Neil Bliss' old car. It's only been run in 7 rallies, finished 6, and got top 5 at Gorman. Very little use, and got a good deal. smiling smiley

I saw the vid of the light roll in the Gaylant, why did you decide to not continue with it?
(This "exit interview" can be very valuable (if you are frank) to others who might be thinking of something similar, why did a project that seemed like a good enough idea to spend thousands and lots of hours, no longer seem like a good idea after so little use?)

Good question!

Well, fact is I bought the WRX before I even had 1 event - and the roll - in the Galant. Funny thing is the previous owner delivered it to me at RIM. Once I bought it, I was going to sell the Galant to a friend after RIM - not so much after the roll. And it never seemed like 'such a good idea' from the get go to build and run it, it was just cheap and a fun project for my GF and me.

I had always kept my feelers out for a suitable (i.e. affordable) Subie, since I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Subaru guy, and though the timing was wrong, it was a screaming deal. Plus I had wanted one since my first spectating experience at Rim 2002. My close relationship with a solid Subaru mechanic who does work for pennies on the dollar sealed the deal. That and my GF's infatuation with bugeyes... smiling smiley

Yep. That's the one. It's fun as hell. Definitely built for rallycross, not 4" "gravel" (hoping to change that soon). I have it back on its wheels now, so the fun can continue.
