In 10 hours an Ebay auction ends for a Toyota Supra rear differential with a 4.3 ratio.
In other words just what we want for a Xratty in the woods. I already won this one time, and now since I don't know anybody who could make any effort to pick it up in the last Fucking 6 months the guy is justifiably thinking I don't want it. As always it was paid for immediately. So anybody in the Denver area who can maybe pick this up? It'll probably go on Grant Hughes Xratty, if fact I bid on it thinking it's be perfect and less effort than going to a junk yard and grovelling for 1/2 hour, so maybe somebody could coordinate with him where it could be dropped off, cause there's no way thay he could pick it up due to no car, no friends anywhere in the Denver area with cars, no time to get a diff for 10 dollars I got it for the last time, just tooooooo busy. Noah Young similarly was unable to pick it up, same reasons. Anybody else around "Arveda"? And what' is the deal? Is it 40 miles or something? Is Denever just a low rent version of LA with endless sprawl and it would take 3-4 hours in vicious traffic? And OK so you have 2, what about the other guy in Denver who said he's be building an Xratty? What about the guy in Bend who say he wants to build one? Sorry I still find the lack of time thing hard to swallow, would be better to say "I don't want to do you the favor" cause that's what it seems like. > > Grant Hughes > www.nocoastmotorsports.net > Denver, CO John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! Let's see, between grad school, wedding planning/preparations, and working more than 50 hours a week, I'm a bit busy. It's not that I don't want to do you the favor so much as I don't want to nor do I have the alloted time to spend 4-5 hours for a ring and pinion between getting it, taking it apart for the ring and pinion and shipping it to wherever. It's a good deal, but is it really worth it when the complete diffs we want can be had without shipping from many junkyards for $60-80? If so then have the guy ship it to you. He says $30 to ship it on the ebay auction. Denver is pretty sprawling, though I couldn't tell you about traffic since I chose to live in the city where I can ride a scooter to work even when the weather is crap. Though I do have a pretty hideous 12 mile commute to work these days. Grant Hughes |

IO didn't ask you, or Noah too for that matter to do anything other than to contact the guy and pick it up, maybe meet half way. No tear down, no shipping. It could sit till somebody is coming here or Oregon or whatever. There are no 4.3 avaible aftermarkey, they skip from 4.1 to 4.56 so a good one is worth a bit of effort for $10. It's a good deal, but is > it really worth it when the complete diffs we want > can be had without shipping from many junkyards > for $60-80? I'm not seeing so many more 4.3s. i let a coupel of 3.9s go casue i want 4.3s. If so then have the guy ship it to > you. He says $30 to ship it on the ebay auction. he'll ship for $60. But there's no need pressing now so it could sit till it could be thrown onto a truck going to an event or when Noah comes home. > > Denver is pretty sprawling, though I couldn't tell > you about traffic since I chose to live in the > city where I can ride a scooter to work even when > the weather is crap. Do you prefer the Kaaz to the Torsen style difs that came in the JZA70s? Seem to be one of the few factory difs that will leave a line on dry pavement with the wheel hung half way in a rice patty.
It would be sweet if you could put your 4.3 gears with the torsen but I don't know. Had a customer tell me that the innards of the MA and JZA difs would swap with a 8" toyota truck style... Are they crazy or is there any truth to that? The later would suprise me more. |

Lot of unloved Supra's around > here... And I've never realy keep in eye on them.. Well make some discreet inquires what they can be had for, and don't mention the LSD, just the diff assembly. If they're cheeeeep enough maybe we can find an inducement to get some pulled. As long as you pull the driveshafts first and don't let the weight of the diff fall onto the halfshaft studs (get s small jack under the thing, its about 80lbs) the come out in about 20 casula, smoke a ciggy type minutes. > > > Captain Gear Box > > Hazardous Toys inc John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember!
