And some are easy to get to and are already backed up ready to go at the flip of a switch, and whaddya know--if you have to change it it can be done in a service, so it sucks less. In my "experience"/perspective...
'Fade' isn't fluid related... although boiling off fluid makes the pedal soft. (in a way that doesn't really return a firm pedal) Fade - to me - is when you still have a good pedal feel - of a 'hard' pedal' - and you just lose braking strength. If we agree on what we're calling 'fade,' then better pads, and either fresh rotors or machine what you have. (I'd go to new rather than having them cut. Good pads can be fairly aggressive on rotors) New fluid regularly is a good idea. Bleeding before every event is worth while. I've been in cars that needed bleeding at every service. (Combination of DOT3 fluid and overuse of LF

That is a bit of a guess and is based on gearing. I could be off a chunk as I never really bothered looking at the tach. Also only on the down hills would this of been possible! Going up was a very different matter. |
