Does it make sense that I only need spacers that are 9.255mm thick on each side?

Oo, Phelps has a nice package deal on ebay for all 8 ends. $105 and free shipping. Cheapest I have seen.

Tim.

Wha? we need the "width" or length of the bush--or better, a measure of the gap the assembly slides in between. Like 60mm or 45mm

Yea
Only way really is order a set then measure in hand....... I think I'll order some tonite.

We are not understanding each other...I suggest we resort to talking not typing. I don't know what you think you're gonna buy...

Sorry for confusion in the conversation John

We mentioned some end links on eBay $105 for a set of 8-3/4" heim with lock

Seems like a good deal, no?

Need joints to get proper clearance dimensions?

Or by looking at your pic... That means you have heims joint and can make spacer!?

You will need to do something about the holes on the sub frame ware the cam bolts were. Those holes are bigger then 12mm. Maybe weld washer in place.

you can either weld a washer on 2, or drill all sub frame mounts out to 14mm so you can order ALL your heims in 14mm (remember thats the size on the other end) i would imagine you could get a better deal ordering 8 of 1, rather than 4 and 4...

No no no, forget metric rod ends. Get 3/4" LH and RH and then the nifty stainless spacers... drilled to 12 or 14.....that plug into the 3/4" holes.

You can buy the more expensive metric heim joints and spacers but then they become real fun to try to get in and out while laying in the dirt at night.
Or you buy a larger and cheaper standard joint and then a plug in spacer that brigns the hole down to the actual size you need and the spacer plugs into the heim meaning you don't have to fiddle with your knee holding the arm in place while you fiddle with the bolt and a spacer and an arm and another spacer and and and... Of course, some of you pervs probably like getting kinky under the rears of Subarus.
On the other hand, you'll still regularly get your asses handed to you by stock suspension cars. And you'lkl just put the stock shit back in at service when you bend the fuck out of the rear arms. Though now they're really weird because you've also bent the shit out of the crossmember in that hit because it was a hard hit and instead of folding up a stock arm, you've slightly less folded up a stronger custom arm AND fucked up the subframe.

After 12 years, I have yet to bend any of the stock rear suspension, unless I was doing major damage that whatever pieces were back there, wouldn't have survived anyway. My $.02.

Started writing down numbers to figure what types of tube or metal stock and found piercemotorsports.com

Jim Pierce from California sells a bolt and go set up online for RallyEscorts and Velosters and one other car...

Cool stuff but definitely heavy like JVL said.

Big chunks of aluminum to match the stock links would do fine,no?

I can vouchsafe for the Pierce stuff. Well thought out, well made, Good (Nay - GREAT!) People.

Yeah, all concerns I have. I'll live and learn. ...unless I die. Then someone else should learn.

Here's a list of catalogs you should order. Every one of them will have swedge tubes, rod ends, brackets, etc. You should be able to find something that is cheap and strong, and it'll show up next day most of the time. A lot of teams race 3 or 4 times a week here.

Yes the parts are for circle track cars, but they'll work just fine for rally unless you hit something. Even then, it's tough stuff. The cornering speeds in late models, mods, and sprints are incredible.

When you pull into service and change out your stock bent one and dont fix anything else in your car cause you ran out of time.

Or you pull off the road on transit loosen a jam nut spin the bent one a few times re set tow and move onto the next stage brake stage record. Then go to podium get pics with hot girls and get one of those big checks! Oh wait thats not rally?

Even still rally cars should have adjustable hiems at some point in its life!

Rod ends arrived while I was at BRS. Measured and ordered the tubes.

John, we'll have to talk reducers/spacers when I get a chance.

I don't know who has what...

I'll give you a call, too and see what you have. Will, Bill, William? Who do I ask for?

Winter is rolling in, I have to get this car back together...
