my 20" bolt in long travel wrx.
bilstine 10 inch shocks
custum frames dropped down 4 inches and upper arms built off those.
10 inches wider on all sides.
Can use stock sti 5 speed but i dont have ones so im going with a
R154 toyleta trans and 4.3 supra diff. With the sti you can run
a 3.9 to keep the awd prably be ok with 33 inch tires with a 2004
sti box's first gear.
its looking promising my motor went to shit so thats depressing
but hope to have it on the gound in a few months and hope i can
find a ok motor.

Is this for Baja or just a fun project for promotion?

What bearings are being used on the fabricated uprights? And wheres the roll center going to be? Seems like its pretty high.

I can see that the upper A-arm is going to be quite stable (and only move up and down), but with the upper tab on the knuckle being so high and the two lower laterals being so close to each other, aren't you worried that the wheel is going to move a bit too much fore and aft under power and braking?

Or am I missing some basic concept, such as "this will be running on sand and will have too little grip to cause problems"?

if you look at the stock subaru hubs they have a bushing that attaches to an arm that runs to the body. there appears to be a matching one on the bottom of his hub. so i'm going to guess he's working on that part next.

Oh, you mean it will have a trailing arm when finished? That would do it.

the bearring is 99 Expedition but i should have forked out 60 a hub instead of 30 and
got 2004 plus 6 lug ford 4 bolt hub and 6 bolt wheels and 13 inch breaks.

Mine is for playing on the beach picking up chicks. but i would like some one too
put a kit on a awd rally car and run in the baja i think it would be a force to be recon
with. The awd in the silt beds mud pits and slow stuff in baja a subie would kick
some ass all the stuff you dont see in the baja videos.

Ya theres is a trailing arm that attaches to a mount that gos all the way up too
the t bar mount, mine over all is about 34"

Re: BAJABARU

the front is going to be a two 7/8 ball joint knuckel with matching hub and brakes
just a much bigger toytota tundra caliper on the front anf ford focus front calipers in
the rear, should toe and stop like a champ.

the front frame i make im going to add 4 inches two like the rear and build a bracket
to hold an upper a arm im going to try and use the same jig for all 4 arms and latter
make them from plate like a baja truck. The lower arm is just a two peace arm and
compretion strut. nothing two it all bolt in im going to weld a 2 inch spacer back on
the motor mounts so the motor will only go down 2 inches and save me a little room
and keeps the exhause up a little more.
