Having green brick flashbacks?

That's one reference I didn't expect on here.

The Brick is still at my shop waiting for a new motor. Only been there a few years. Should actually be finished this year with a 6.4 like my car.

OMFG! I know who you are now! I THOUGHT that name set off an alarm-bell!

Haha my dad is a mopar nut... he's got a 68 cuda that will hopefully get some flavor of modern hemi and possibly a t56.

I think I read the green brick article in mopar action when I was all of 13 or 14. Made me want one really bad. I now have a jdm wrx and a volvo, funny how things change.

Also I didn't expect to see you on here... how did you find your way over?

I ran Group 2 starting in '03 for a couple years in a Neon. Ehrenberg was actually my navigator and Carl S even crewed for me at LSPR amd Sno Drift. I've been watching, lurking and learning for many years here and over on Specialstage. Never really much to say though.

I should really stir the pot around here more. I've got a few good Spitzner stories that could start some fun.

Thanks,

Hopefully I've made a positive impact somehow. You must know me, but who are you? I actually agree with the JVL intro rules, but don't come close to keeping up with the board always.

Me? I am Nobody. Did you not see my Signature?

I do not KNOW YOU, know you - just familiar with some of your exploits: "I know who you are".

Same-same with Perfesser Mordkoff over there; although (through the DSM community) he and I have had a bit more contact, though not for several years, until he joined this forum.

Can't be "nobody", but ok.

Glad my exploits get some attention. They will hopefully be getting better over the next couple years. Stay tuned...

Hey Kevin,
Do yourself a big favor and retain the vent boxes on each side just above your feet...the ones with the doors on them. On a long rally, you will be very grateful to have this fresh air floor venting to cool things off. Being all wrapped up in fire protection in a stuffy rally car gets pretty bad sometimes.

The stock heater box got booted a few years ago, but it was an air car, so I don't think it had the vents anyway. I've been debating a roof vent of some kind. I'll have to look around and see what I can come up with. Since it's down in Nascar country, maybe a recycled roof flap of some sort. Not sure if I want put a carbon fiber vent on the roof.

Thanks,

Kevin Wesley

They open both ways to force air in and out.

They open both ways to force air in and out.

We have Model A in the Frankenpreza. Had one in the Focus too. Interestingly, in our car, the vent pushes air into the car in both positions. When open to the front the air pours down between our seats towards the back. When the vent is open to the rear, the air pours down towards the dashboard. I think it's due to the roof scoop mounted over the vent causing a buildup of air pressure at the back of the scoop and the air prefers to come in the cabin than try to push out the back of the scoop. I actually use both posiitons for different conditions.

Make sure to close vent when approaching water crossings! smiling smiley

Simon
