Typically, I'd agree with you - and perhaps having interacted a bit with him (Chris Brinson) has clouded my judgment.
The "dangerous process" is 100% fluff - and he knows that. And he's totally honest about his perfectionism, but for him it's a selling point - he's a one man shop trying to produce the best product possible for his customers, competing against larger companies producing lower-quality product at a lower pricepoint.

Similar challenges as a certain purveyor of bitchin' suspenders faces? Sure.
But the fact that he takes a different approach to producing and marketing his product doesn't change the fact that he seems to be just as supportive of his customers (both in a service/support manner as well as helping-them-achieve-their-goals) as you are.

I understand that but 100% fluff looks like, and sounds like and smells like bullshit...

Stuff looks good, prices are kinda high for what it is but hey most people "need" a lot more of everything than I do, including money...
And sorry but I have been around too many self described "perfectionists" and its always gone bad..... It's an abstract and imaginary concept and it's a 'marker" for somebody who I dunno, just doesn't understand that us amateur savages don't need perfection in anything except: bearing crush, bearing clearances, piston ring side clearance, pin bore fit and maybe valve seats...
EVERYTHING else we need "pretty damn good"....not junk, but not "perfection", just pretty damn good..(even torque on bolts is always a range)

Perfection is where the cost curve goes straight up and the laugh return curve plummets straight down.....ie multiples more in costs for fractions of 1% returns...or immeasurable for us numbskulls....

Remember the slogan I say everybody should carve on a big wooden sign and hang just a touch too low in the garage so you inevitably conk you head on it daily???

I read somewhere that a miata rear end goes into these cars quite nicely but was never able to find more info. Im quite keen to see where you go with this.

Busy day.

1. GSL-SE is officially gone. Cut the front corners for spares for the rally car.

2. Began the FD3S rx7 rear suspension. The gas cylinder is representative of how tall the towers will likely be since the strut mounts on top of the hub assembly. Various pictures of the FD rears and the spares (i acquired three dropouts in total. left one assembled for mocking up).

3. turns out the rear brakes are FUCKING HUGE since they ever-so-barely rub the inside of my enkei. Any rally wheels have a larger inner diameter?

4. Diff is nicely sized relative to the dewalt 18v batt used for reference. Good ring. Going with either 4.88 or 5.12. Currently has a torsen diff however, but i can get a clutch verison.
