Fuel rail problems
March 30, 2014 02:21AM
I've replaced all the injector seals with new, aligned the rail a couple of times, lubed all the seals with dielectric grease and the thing still leaks. Am I missing some super secret lube for the seals? The rail seems overly sensitive to being aligned square with the injectors, and the rail hardware was at best poorly developed. My calibrated eyeball says its square now, and it seals for a little while but develops leaks as the car runs. Am I still misaligned or did I miss a step? Any tips?

How is it bolted, and to what?

Uses two L shaped brackets to bolt to the valve cover. Seems everyone that has an internet account and an audi 10v has alignment issues with this setup

Not my car but a good illustration

Looks like it is not being held securely. The overhung mounting structure looks pretty bogus. 54psi (42psi plus 12psi boost) times maybe 1/3 square inch per injector times five injectors is 80 pounds of force lifting up on the rail against those cantilevered mounts.

I'll bear this in mind when I make mounts for mine. Bought on eBay with no mounts. But that's okay since it is going on an NG intake manifold which it wasn't designed for anyway!

I've got the "new and improved" 034 rail.... I had it sealed nicely in the last car... This one is just not playing ball.
