firewall thickness/material?

Zipped through the ruels regarding using an OEM fuel tank located in the trunk. Says it must be firewalled but gives no requirements on material or thickness. Any recommendations?

The idea is to a) prevent flammable fumes from getting into the cockpit area and b) create enough of a barrier so that should something light back there, it doesn't blow forward and set you on fire before you can stop and exit. So yeah, aluminum sheet is fine, but try to seal up all the gaps.

No visible gaps. Use caulk, a couple layers of aluminum sealing tape, rivet or weld small pieces, . Don't forget to seal the area in the C-pillar also. Spray foam and aluminum tape work pretty well there.

Spray foam and aluminum tape work pretty well there.

Only if it's some kind of fireproof spray foam. Please note that most common expanding foam you get from the hardware store is EXTREMELY flammable and makes LOTS of nasty toxic smoke.

Cheap to boot. Many people tend to want to forget that passage in the C-pillar which can be quite large when you actually examine it.
