From the pics, the engine side bracket seems to be bolted directly to the block?
Yes, direct to block. There are drillings there from the days the engine was fitted in the A1 Rabbit / Golf, and they're still there thumbs up

Maybe, just maybe, it’s down to the driver.

Where do you get the side mounts to use on the shell? Are they universal?

I was checking out Duplessis's old car at Nemadji Trail Winter Rally and it had this setup and the dog bone thingy. It seems simple enough to do.

Are there universal dog bone mounts out there too?

If you guys want pictures of the Duplessis car, I can probably get some photos of specific things. I co-drive for Rob who owns it now. Perhaps he could be convinced to provide some reference ;-)

Lots of pics of the Duplessis car and others during fabrication here and elsewhere you just have to look

I've looked this forum over stem to stern, pics don't work for whatever reason on many of the threads and trying to understand some peoples explanation of what they wanted to achieve isn't the way to replace one good picture. Did you go through your link prior to posting it and see all the spots where pics were but are no longer? Guessing either something in the site format or some hosting site guys were using is MIA.

All the pics work for me. Try from somewhere else?

Imagine if the last 6 posts were relevant to the conversation and worked for all the new tech.....

The pics after page 1 don't work for me.

More or less it looks like you're just replicating what the A1 chassis cars did, but putting the dogbone on the engine instead of the trans (presumably to make trans removal faster) right? So it sounds like another case of the engineers getting it right the first time grinning smiley
