Hey K'Gowski, Were Makin 50mm JVAB suspenders for the Focus

Gonna be sending VanVurpa some sweet 50mm knuckles, and he's going to brew some 50mm suspenders for the focus, also sending one of my rims, so we can check clearance! Hope you're ready to shove her into some rocks, this is gonna be fun!

I though he made 50's before for a Focus....

And I want infos on the new rear link set-up that all the cool kids are talking about.

I believe they are 05-07 focus knuckles, direct bolt on too my car, with more space for more strut (thank god because I've already had one tree stump incident)

Picked them up for $90 brand new shipped LOL! Guy used them for a brake setup mock up. And I happened upon them. Yay me. Now john is going to have his way, make some 50mm suspension for my project and bitchin brakes (hopefully) that will fill my wheels like never before

And I don't know if I'm building the super links in the rear, may just do tubular reinforcement on the stock junk but who knows. Good enough is never good enough and I can't leave things along.

The '00-'04 has a small ball joint and a small strut hole. '05 has a large ball joint and a small strut hole. '06 and up has a large ball joint and a large strut hole.

Yeah that. Should work well, just gotta figure out clearance for the phat springs that have too sit in there

That should be a good upgrade and will cure the biggest issue with the focus front suspension.

Keep in mind that the ball joint is now bigger so you will need to get the newer ball joint to use these knuckles.

While you are upgrading the fronts make sure you switch to the '06+ tie rod ends and tie rods. This removes the offset. I stopped bending them since I made the switch. Ford changed the thread pitch on the end and rod so you have to change both. The rack and boots are the the same so no issues there.

Anything else I should do in there while it's apart?

Shipped out the knuckle and team dynamics wheel today, john you'll have to put a tire on it I assume. I have mostly 185/70/15 BFG's laying around for the rally car, so if you can clear like a 195 then we should be set

Simon had some issues with the front A-arm bolt ovaling out the subframe. So worth checking that.

Make sure you get a solid nut for the axle and throw away the stacked washer thing that came from the factory. They are one time use and even then do not hold a good torque which can lead to bearing and hub failures.

Well hello! I'm super stoked and need this 50mm stuff ASAP. With stock focus rims and a 15mm spacer I've got a 0.600" space between the tire and spring so the increase in spring diameter for the 50 will fit with room according to John.
