Affordable plate type diffs!
July 06, 2016 12:18PM
Hey guys, in my usual search for affordable alternatives to the mainstream market I came across 3J Driveline. After a little research I found that these are 3 of the main guys that were part of Tran-X but decided not to stay on when the company was purchased by Quaife. Sounds as though they have a lot of happy customers and deal primarily with the racing crowd as evidenced by their lineup.
$730USD for the entire VW trans range is a steal, and they have diffs for the focus as well. I like that you get to specify the desired preload and it comes to you set-up where most others will need to be shimmed to your own spec once you get it.

Wow, that is a great deal! I love how they are fully customizable. You really are the king of finding inexpensive VW rally parts! If I didn't already have a KAAZ I would be all over this.

Yeah but VW parts that old are pretty much impossible to find around here.

Alternative to the 020 is whatever trans is behind a front drive Ecoboost.

I'll wait for the Brexit boondoggle to get bad enough that I could buy that for $1000 and a packet of crisps.

I will be buying that first link, though. I dunno what voodoo you do but thanks!

No worries, betting I can find it for free once I get on a desktop, Apple products blow for finding stuff. I could see where you had asked on a couple of forums....
