Background:
Mark and I started our rally team in late 2006 with the purchase of a 1970 VW Beetle. Our goal was to build a semi historically accurate rally car based off of the Volkswagen Porsche Austria racing team from the late 60's to early 70's. (The Salzburg Rallye Beetles) Most of the modifications and upgrades are similar to the Salzburg cars, with the exception of using some parts that are more readily available today. While not completely historic, the car is very close to the performance of the original cars (Engine HP/TQ, Transmission, Weight)

Hi guys.

As there are only a few more days 'til Oregon Trail, I thought I'd add my own Rally Team thread to the Mix.

Say Hello to TeamD.

Yes, I know, TeamD has been around a while but until this weekend the entire focus of the gang has been on TSD events. Now, after yeas of gathering TSD trophies, it's time to dip my toe into the world of Stage. So here's some info on the effort.

Driver: Jeff McMillen, novice at Stage but old hand at TSD.

Co-Driver (for this event): Kathryn Hansen. The expert in the car.

Car: 1987 Subaru RX. Car number 247. I bought it off Ron Sorem last year and have spent some months getting it up to current spec. It was campaigned in SCCA rally in the early 90's but nothing recent. It was born with 115hp and in class I can't really do much to improve that. Plus, with age some of the horsepowers have probably leaked out. It does have JVAB Boingers (tm) all around so that's a plus. And Dave Clark did the cage (and recent updates) so there's wuite a bit of Rally Anarchy in the bones of the slow moving beast.

Class: PGT. Why not? It's not like it will be competitive in any class with me behind the wheel so I might as well keep it as I found it.

Website: http://www.teamd.org. Most of the info is on our (and I say Our as TeamD is many people, not just this car) TSD efforts including a number of Alcan 5000 entries. I added a new blog entry today on the car and will attempt to keep things lively over the OTR weekend and through the other events of the year. I also intend to do some twittering if there's reception.

If you find yourself down in Oregon this weekend, come say HI!

After a few years of fooling around, I decided it's time to start a Team Kamunen page.

Based out of Calgary, we try to do all the events in the Western Canadian Rally Championship, and have also had a few attempts at the full Canadian National Championship. For sure one day soon we'll be doing more south of the border as well ;) I named the team to honor the memory of my mother, Raija Kamunen, and keep the Finnish family name going.

Driver: Eric Grochowski, 49 stage rallies as a competitor so far, and I still feel like a novice. Some good results and titles.

Co-Driver: Leanne Junnila, when she's not busy co-driving for Rocket types. I've also had the pleasure of Keith Morison's and Jaclyn Schofield's co-driving duties. All three in 2011 actually, thanks for the help winning Group 2 in the WCRC with a perfect score this year guys!

Current car: 1996 VW Golf, Group 2. Currently with a 2.0L 16V, mostly stock internals since the good one blew up in 2009 (we'll fix that for '12). SDS engine management. 50mm euro imusarja. Hotbits suspension that have had the life pounded out of them but keep getting rebuilt for more. 020 transmission (close-ratio 16v), 4.81:1 ring and pinion, Kaaz plate diff. Car has bits from everything between a passat and a civic hiding on it somewhere.

Cheers!

Hello, we are Finnish Fury Rallysport.

We are a up and coming rally team based out of Duluth, MN. We started campaigning our 1991 Nissan 240SX Group 2 car in early 2011. Our first year was mainly a testing grounds to get the car sorted.

I built the car myself from the ground up with a little help from some of my friends, who have also been acting as my crew for 2011. I started the build up in October of 2009.

Check us out on FaceBook. Finnish Fury Rallysport

The full build of the car is detailed here: The 240SX rally car

Here is a short video with some build photos, and in car video.

My name is Ian, I am the car owner and driver. As of now I do not have a set co-driver, but may for next season depending on how things go. My focus for next season, is Max Attach. The car is currently Group 2, and will stay that way for at least a year, although I have entertained the idea of upping to Group 5.

Some of the other team members are Cale Isaacs, and Broc Nelson. Both have acted as crew, but Cale is looking to get into the car any way he can. His long term goals include building a car of his own.

I first got into rally in the mid 90s when my cousin Eric Seppanen was racing his Production Sentra SE-R, which he later sold to Jake Himes. I worked service for both teams, and in later years helped out Dan Adamson as crew. I have also marshalled many times. I am looking forward to getting to know more and more rally people over the next few years.

Its time to bring Real Wheel Drive back to the rally world.

Hi everyone!
I just found out about rallyanarchy.com and I wanted to present my team.

We started rallying in the Quebec rally-cross events in 2007. We always volontered for the national events close to home (east, Canada), but last year was our first season in performance rally. We ended up wining the Quebec championship, so I don't have to explain that we had a blast!!.

Our website is only in french for the moment, but I hope you will enjoy our new video!
Nate and myself have been rallying for a couple years. It all started by watching youtube rally crashes, and I said to myself" I'm good at crashing cars, I should do that". Not that I was good at driving cars. Autochoad racing is all about shameless self promotion and Straub Beer.

We've been volunteering at rallys for about 3 years. We're both 25 years old and grads of Clarkson University (stay in school if you want to rally kids!)

The car is a 1983 Volkswagen Rabbit GTI. It has the original 1.8 litre engine block decked .120'' and fittend with a 2.0 litre crossflow head with a 3 angle valve job. It has a custom intake with megasquirt fuel injection, pacesetter headers, a VR6 throttle body, 288 TT racing cam, and a close ratio 5 speed gearbox with a Quaife LSD. Bilstein HD shocks with Eibach coil over sleeve kits on the corners. We'll probably be working on something better before too long for the suspension. Currently has an appendix 1 logbook under Rally-America's rules.

LB Rally Team - Denmark (1 reply)

LB Rally Team (formerly Low Budget Rally Team :-)).
Danish Klubrally-Team (kinda like US Autocrossing - only not quite).
Driver: Brian Klausen (me), born 1976, rallied for 4 years at time of writing.
Co-driver: Kim Sørensen, born 1978, navigating for ever :-).

Driving a 1985 Golf GTi 8V.
Bilstein struts in front - 325 lbs/inch springs, spherical bearings in the top mounts on castor plates of my own design, Monroe MagiCamber bolts. Brembo slotted discs, OMP pads. Rear has GAZ adjustable coilovers (height and dampening), 110-225 lbs/inch progressive springs, OEM brakes.
Motor has had a slight workover - performance camshaft, MegaSquirt engine management.
Gearbox is 16V 2Y-box with a 4.64 R&P and a Quaife ATB-diff.
A ton of other small doo-dads and tweaks - not overly interesting, but very necessary.

We rally on tarmac, short stages, finished 3rd in the local championship our class in 2005.

Kick ass Gp2 team using a 1985 Golf GL
Seattle, WA
Our mission is to go out at full atack each and every time and drive the wheels off The car, a side effect is to be the fastest 2wd car on every stage. Another side effect is to give the spectators something exciting to watch.

Derek Bottles - Driver 36yrs old and I did my first rally at age 19
Jason Grahn - Co-Driver still a boy, a wolfboy
Becca Galfer - Co-Driver (and my smoking hot wife) 36
John Lane, Matt Manspeaker, David Clark, Greg, and others Crew. Mid 30's

Car - A $400 1985 Golf with a whole bunch of good parts added.
See I basically knew I was not a very good driver so I built a good car knowing I could use the better mechanics to hide my weak driving. So we got a ripping motor with more HP than most of the other 2wd cars, then we got good brakes, struts, steering, and gearbox to go with it. Along the way a funny thing happened, the car was so good it inspired me to drive better as I had confidence in the car. Now I have a good car and have become a good driver the trees are scared.
