Favorite hood pins?

Anyone have any favorites that don't cost an arm or so?

Just need to hold the hood down, and not have parts I can loose.

Thinking something like this:
It's just the way it is, in my state we are lucky enough to be able to rego some pretty full-on rallycars. there a a few hoops to jump but they are pretty reasonable.

They are worried about pedestrian V car accidents. It's BS when you can have any bullbar/lights/spare wheel/entrenching tools etc on the bonnet of your fourby. A couple of pins on a vehicle that sees such limited use aren't going to do much but so what I'll save my fights for when they matter.

JVL Wombats..... fark that! Those little monsters are like boulders with legs, they may even give your sooper bitchin struts a bit of a touch up on a good day!:spin:

Why would you have to worry about that.. There's nothing flammable under the hood :)

The only time I've used a fire extinguisher was putting out the car behind us. Pulled up to us just passed finish and my driver saw flames in rear view. We were out and had the fire put out before they really realized what was going on. Side note of common sense, don't just whip the hood open. Lift just enough to get the nozzle in and start spraying. Much harder to do when it won't lift very far for some reason, I'm sure the driver will get out and get to the "safety" latch in time to be useful. On stage it's just you anyhow...

I'll repeat my regular advice:

Do not remove the safety latch from the hood. Yes, by all means remove/disable the remote release mechanism, but leave the safety latch in place. In our cars I was able to cut away the remote release component leaving the safety latch in place.

When, not if, your hood pins are overlooked, you'll thank me.
That seems reasonable to me. Its the cable bit from inside causing the current annoyance anyway. Had to replace the Hood on the M725 because some army grunt forgot a long time ago. Now it has a safety latch from a newer Jeep as well as the other hold downs.

Roughly similar.

Sparco and OMP are both going for about $40 something. I really like the aero-catch ones, but I think I've come to my senses.
