2018 Crosstrek - Subaru Canada Rocket Rally Team Build (no replies)

90% of R5 performance at 25% the Price

Initially built in 2018 as the first of a series of 5 cars built by Rocket Rally (at the time also running Subaru Canada's rally team), the intention was to deliver performance similar to and/or close to the top-spec cars in the championship at the time at a fraction of the cost. This was the first in the series and has featured a number of upgrades to keep it up to the current spec of the last cars built and is in the fact the most optioned of all the Crosstreks built by Rocket Rally.

Featuring a full build from new stripped chassis and up.

This car is a guaranteed podium finishers in the right hands, and this one and its' sister cars have finished on the overall podium several times (Canada and the USA) and won national rallies outright in Canada. Not for a beginner, this is for experienced drivers who want to step up from basic builds but don’t want to invest 350k + into an R5 car.

Note: car also includes full 80L FIA fuel cell (option on this series) which has been test fitted but not fully plumbed. Car also has light body damage on a-pillar which was not repaired (not functionally a problem, just cosmetic), and is pre-wired / includes full suite of rally lights.

Additional things of note are full underbody protection, roof vent, motorsport steering wheel, seats, belts, etc. everything needed to pass technical inspection.

•	Rally spec high compression 2.0/2.2 engine with Garrett Motorsports Turbo
•	Front mounted intercooler
•	Custom radiator pack
•	Reservoir tank
•	Full engine bay MIL-spec wiring harness (new)
•	Motorsport loom connectors and sub-connectors
•	Engine oil cooler and dedicated fan
•	Electric driver-adjustable power steering
•	Quick rack
•	Plumbed and wired for by-pass anti-lag (now banned)
Full 3" exhaust including oval low clearance / equal volume sections (new one needs fitting see below)
JDM 2.0L heads with rally cams and fully functioning AVCS
•	Upgraded oil pump
•	Baffled sump
•	Rocket spec bottom end
•	Had regularly run up to 2.5bar boost pressure / 3.5bar absolute (has been adjusted since to meet current rally regulations)
•	Tuned to run on VP109 or Elf PerfoMax 105 using a Motec M150 ECU
•	ECU is fully unlocked and features a "Development License", allowing future firmware changes from suitable Motec dealers.
•	Functioning features include Launch Control, Anti-Lag, Flat Shift, etc. etc. pre-wired for active Lambda sensors and additional sensors for tuning (if desired, for example EGT etc.)
•	Fully seperated Gearbox loom on a motorsport connector
•	Front chassis harness on motorsport connector
•	All going to an integrated Motec PDM and keypad which also attached to the interior chassis harness (all new since last rally).
•	Gearbox is a PPG 6speed sequential, electronic center diff with upgraded clutch packs and coils and internal wiring, with STI motorsport fully ramp and way adjustable front and rear diffs (CUSCO) - can be modified for 1-way, 1.5-way and 2-way (currently setup as used by Antoine L'Estage / Brandon Semenuk in the SRTC and sister Crosstreks)
•	Diff maps selectable from the Motec keypad as well as adjustable from the unlocked Motec M150 ECU.
o	Can be upgraded to "high current" diff with a Motec DHB (only necessary if current lock levels / current are insufficient for given driver or if front and rear diffs are "loosened up").
•	Heavy duty front and rear driveshaft/CV joints, using modified Group N uprights with full AP VO brake kit (currently in gravel spec) with Performance Friction pads.
•	Includes adjustable brake proportioning valve and bias adjustment, plus custom M/C setup and spacer (additional option vs. the other Crosstreks).
•	Full stainless brake lines throughout with plumbed in hydraulic handbrake and seperate lines on each corner.
•	Suspension is Exe-TC "R4 long" gravel spec with custom top hats (upgradeable to the full long travel suspension equal as on Antoine's car but not really necessary).
•	Includes aluminum front control arms with Motorsport spherical bearings, "zero bump steer" rear arms including modified trailing, toe link and lateral links (possibly considered "R-A Super Production" legal at the time as it did not alter mounting points per se, however the cantilevered design effectively meant longer arms connected to the original OE subframe. Subframes have steel inserts, all chassis suspension points fully bobbined and welded top and bottom with solid threaded 4130 inserts.
•	Pre-wired for Stilo, Rally Safe, Boost Inspection / Recording device, as well as including a lightweight battery in mount box (behind driver's seat), plumbed in fire supression (might need re-certification) and hand bottles as well as tire kit all on carbon floor panels, with hydraulic jack and spare changing setup in rear.

Total package including Fuel Cell $87,500CAD

Howdy all -

I have a Merkur project ready for a new home. Not sure how much traffic this forum gets anymore, I'll add more details if anyone is interested.

Caged shell with engine mounted. Lots of bits and pieces including JVAB suspenders up front and parts he recommended. Also 89 daily driver that's in ok shape for the age.

Had hoped to get back to it after raising my kid but that's unlikely so hopefully someone can have fun building up this icon of a car.

Thanks

1993 Honda Civic Stage Rally Car Project (2 replies)

This is the ex-Deaton/Deffenbaugh 1993 Honda Civic stage rally car that I purchased in 2018. It has a lot of great parts, plenty of spares, and (as far as I know) still holds the G2 record at STPR on SS10/Cedar. The car has competed in 18 events total (both rallies and hillclimbs), and it’s last event was Sandblast 2017 where it placed 3rd in class (O2L).

It’s time to face reality – I don’t have the time and space to finish this project. I’d like to send this one on to someone who can build it and put it back on the podium where it belongs. Please note – the pictures shown should be considered the “before” and/or glamour shots. It is a disassembled rolling shell at this point and will need reassembly with the included parts to run/compete. Bring a trailer and large, empty truck for all the spares!

Car spec includes:

Chassis -

Fully caged and NASA logbooked in June 2009

HotBits DT2 shocks with zero miles on full rebuild by Peter at Hotbits Canada

Brand new Eibach 60mm coilover springs – 11.8” Length – 342# front, 228# rear

Brand new strut mounts, bushings, etc

Brand new front and rear control arms, ball joints, bushings, and wheel bearings with zero miles

Good spares of many suspension parts, including spindles

Approximately 2,100# wet with a 200hp H22 drivetrain

Clean and clear title in hand and in my name

Drivetrain -

JDM H22A with fresh timing belt, water pump, and tensioner

USDM H22A1 for parts (good head for rebuild, accessories, etc) – broken rear motor mount casting on engine block

JDM Accord Si-R T2W4 transmission with OEM helical LSD

USDM Prelude M2S4 transmission with KAAZ clutch LSD (needs 2nd gear synchro)

USDM Prelude M2F4 transmission with open diff (cracked case - for parts)

Hasport H22 swap kit with brand new bushings and Driveshaft Swap axles

Brand new Rywire H22 Mil-Spec engine to ECU harness

Fidanza aluminum flywheel with ACT HD clutch

Chipped P29 ECU

Stainless steel header, “cat”, and stainless steel exhaust

Spares include brand new distributor, numerous uninstalled gaskets, alternator, brand new oil pan, etc

So, what’s it need?

Installation of the drivetrain

Clean up and sorting of the wiring….it was running as-is, but there are bare-wire splices from prior owners and field fixes that give me shudders. A weekend spent cleaning up the wiring with terminated ends heat shrink, etc would be time well spent. I believe I have a new Speedway/Ron Francis cutoff switch I’ll throw in...it was originally wired with a Hella removable cut-off switch as the “key”.

Fire suppression system per ARA rules.

General feedback from current rally competitors is the cage should be good as-is, but may need a bar or two. I can provide detailed pics for interested parties, but it will take a bit to get the car out of storage.

Harnesses are expired and will need to be replaced.

I’d throw a lick of paint on it and make it look nice, but that’s me.

Including the original price of the car, I have well over $10,000 invested. It’s easily worth that or more in finished and running condition, but I can’t seem to find the time to get it done. Consider this a DIY rally car kit with “some assembly required”. I’m asking $4,500 or reasonable offer for everything listed above, but am also open to interesting vehicular trades (no projects please), including trades that would require money on my side. While it would be more lucrative, I’m not interested in parting the car out. The car is located in a suburb of Rochester, NY.
Thanks!

Hi I've been a long time stalker on the page and have heard that you build some damn good suspension bits from inverted Bilsteins. I have been building a 2002 Focus SVT for 2021 ARA/NASA while rallyxing a 99 Saab 9-3 and wondered if you still make suspension? I was going to go hotbits but their slightly out of budget for me and thought it was worth an ask to see if I could bother you to sell me some of your uh "home-brewed" variety.
Thanks,

2008 VW GTI - rally / hill climb / road race car. $10,500.00
located in Boulder Colorado.

2.0T FSI turbo with DSG transmission.
engine currently tuned to a stage 2 custom Eurodyne file for roughly 280hp. (Can detune to stock or stage 1 if buyer prefers)
The DSG is also running a eurodyne tune.

This is a great handling, very fast, predictable, and easy to drive rally car and ready to race.
I have mainly used it to run the dirt hill climb series in Colorado and track days at our local road race course where is is also quite at home turning very fast lap times.
Which a simple big brake swap (included) and lower suspension it would be a great track endurance car. Which was part of my master plan for this. Always fun to do more than one thing right?

The cage is built to and conforms with FIA article 253. Its is very well executed and tight fitting. Half 1.75" tube and the remainder 1.5" tube, all DOM.
It was log booked with Rally America in 2017 and ran 1 event with them. I have not run any ARA or NASA events with the car but should be no problem, ARA will need main kill switch added.

• front skid plate (2 part) with inner bull bar type reinforcement
•high flow intercooler piping and extra large intercooler.
•turbo muffler delete
•Full 3” exhaust, turbo back
•extra large aluminum radiator with dual fans on automatic fan switch, double relayed.
•silicone intercooler hoses
•silicone radiator hoses
•oversize paddle shifters
•high flow fuel pump for stage 2 and up
•ARP dog bone motor mount (anything else pales in comparison)
•willwood hydraulic handbrake
•wheel scrapers on rear
•Bilstein HD struts
•brake proportioning valve
•Kevlar roof vent
•9 matching Audi A4 wheels with rally tires. very tough wheels
•HID headlights
• 2 OMP HTP seats with current harness’s

The car has just over 100k on it mostly street miles. And pretty much everything has been looked over, tested and repaired if needed, or replaced.
It does have a Colorado salvage tile due to cosmetic damage to the rear right quarter. It was nothing major.

* Lots of spares
DSG trans
K03 turbo with manifold
Stock intercooler and piping
Stock fuel pump
Front control arms
Complete rear suspension, sub frame to brakes, + extra arms
Front sub frame
Front spindles
Cv axles
Front bumper, a few doors
NIB front wheel bearings
Many spare engine parts
Stock sway bars
GTI big brake kit
Stock radiator and fans
Extra motor mounts
Race style cat
Stock down pipe with cats (for emissions testing)

Hello again Rally Anarchy.

I am finally selling my Volvo 240 rallycrosser/DD.

1990 Volvo 244. 5 speed, welded diff, K-Cam, gutted.

Drives straight, runs great, heat works, new clutch, etc.

Was a Cali car 10 year ago and is still what I'd call a low-rust car. Infact the only rust damage is right above the windshield, and this cracked the glass.

Someone come make this the rally car I never did.

$1000 for a Rally guy.

We can also negotiate the non-wc t5, shifter, clutch assy, and JVAB adapter I've had in my basement for 7 or so years

Been sitting in my garage forever and I doubt I'll actually go through putting them in my XR. Yes JVL once made kits, but he's out of stock and not going to make another run unless there's 30 people ready to pony up for deposits. I have little faith that that will happen.

Rally family special pricing (compared to prices listed locally)
I have 2 mkIII supra diffs:
$225 - 3.9:1 LSD
$100 - 4.3:1 Open

$275 takes both, willing to ship, but would be on your dime (have shipped them before).

My plan was to put the LSD pumpkin on the 4.3 ring gears but plans never materialize. For you toyota axle volvo folks, these centers will fit the V6 (7.5in) truck axles:

I was pretty sure i placed the ad here but i did not lol.
here it is: (i just copied and pasted from my Craigslist ad)
Turn key stage Rally car 2018 Subaru Impreza WRX. 4K on the clock!
If You're not in the market for a stage rally car then please move on.
So here it is: Was building it for myself while rallying 2WD Fiesta ST planning to sell it
and get back to 4WD class but rolled the Fiesta and have to fix it first and can't keep 2 race cars
Car is Production Class with 32 mm restrictor
Engine is all stock in order to stay in class with some minor mods such as:
Charge pipe w/better flow, TGV and EGR deleted, A/C deleted, 2 oil catch cans.
3" downpipe and midpipe, single exit exhaust with High flow cat in the very back
Two-way adjustable DMS Gravel suspension, front strut bar. Massive Skid plate.
Roof vent, Smaller and lighter side mirrors, lightened rear doors,
Viscous center, and plated rear diff, Amsoil severe gear synthetic oil. Rear diff protection,
FIA specs rolcage CARS certified.
Battery relocated to behind co-driver's seat.
Front Gravel brakes w/KNS rotors and DBA pads,
Re-plumbed brake system, Stainless steel brake lines, Hydraulic E-Brake
while stock e-brake is still there (just got tired of placing rocks under wheels to keep it from rolling).
Mirco RS2 FIA winged seats for head protection and 6 point Racequip harnesses. all up to date.
OMP map light, Central Electric kill switch which disconnects everything and shuts the engine off.
Comes with 7 x 18" STi rims w/pretty much new winter tires
And a set of 4 x 15" Method gravel wheels with gravel tires
surely forgetting some stuff.
Will be tuning soon. Haven't done it because not sure if I'll be running Race gas, E85 or pump gas
Most likely for now will be tuned for 94.
price is $27,900 USD the way it is or 26K without seats and harness.
And yes, it's eligible for the US and Canada Subaru contingency program.
is it still $3.000 for participation in the first rally?
PS. car is located in Surrey, Canada, about 25 min from the US border!

Up for sale is my XR rally project. I've owned this car since 2001, life and job changes kept putting it on hold. Originally intended to compete in Group 5. Cage was built to specs for 04' and the shell is stitch welded from the front strut towers to the rear strut towers, it will need some additional tubing installed to bring it up to current spec. This just the rolling shell only (has stock suspension and steering) no engine or transmission. Only the rear hatch has glass. Bumpers and covers included, no side arches or body cladding. This vehicle has a clean title, not salvage.

I am only available on the weekends to show car.

made by Nike and Adidas and Reebok in the early 2000s. nike mens shorts sale There was so much made, in so many different cuts and with such little information about them. They are impossible to search for, even, because they were just shirts and shorts and pants Nike made that were sold everywhere. Because of use and ubiquity, they didn’t last long—like how in the 1950s every kid put baseball cards, which were cheap and everywhere, in their bike spokes because they made cool noises, and now those cards aren’t around anymore. In the early 2000s people worked out (but not their legs) and didn’t save their workout shirts.
They have a nice full cut. These jerseys, nike outlet which don’t seem to have a real name, are from the era before Dri-FIT, which is to say they’re relatively recent, and not due for a retro yet. The tees are better than some current ones primarily because the sleeves are longer. It’s nice when your athletic sleeves go all the way down to your elbows so you can hide parts of yourself. All Nike’s 2002 World Cup shirts fit generously and many of them are transcendent. Some of them have ersatz collars, which you don’t see much of anywhere. The South Korea jersey is a nice soft fuchsia color and has jagged lines down its side. It looks utilitarian, like something a construction worker on a drug trip in a movie might wear.
It’s probably because the lighting at runway shows is so good. nike swimwear mens I keep thinking I'll wear soccer jerseys again, but I won’t ever. In college I read English men's fashion magazines and every one was adamant its readers shouldn't wear them. I understand the sentiment: wearing a soccer jersey in England carries a different cachet than wearing it here. I guess it is like wearing a Detroit Lions jersey to church. Even though I don’t watch Eastenders I couldn’t shake the association.
