Check out the newest issue of D-Sport magazine. Cool article on Kaaz D1 driver Lisa Klassen and her widebody EVO. Impressive specs-2700lbs, 2.3 stroker with 600hp. The article claims Klassen is going to beat Mouton's record and become the quickest female up the peak.

I seriously don't get the point. Why are Lisa and Leon targeted in a topic that has a rather intriguing like Bullshit Hype ?
Did anybody other than myself here compete against Lisa and Leon ? How do you know about their talent and driving level ? I do. Was there anybody from here (other than myself) competing at Rim Challenge and watching them both drive ? Stop this nonsense, The girl can drive no ifs ands or buts about it. Leon can kick all our collective asses behind the wheel of a rally car even when he's having a bad day of driving. You wanna critique their talent ? Come up with something better than hearsay and leave personal opinions, jealousies and grudges and indigestions aside. You want Bullshit Hype ? Go talk about all those who offset their driving inequities with cubic dollars of car prep, rule bending and media tickling. Even when those fuckers blatantly cheat they come out clean as a whistle. Including when they cry wolf or should I have said ATV RIDER ? Cheers M.Samli Phoenix AZ Gaylant VR4 EVO III GSR (Stolen) Rallies are no place for traitors |

Mustafa. About four or five years ago, a local guy said, 'I'm going to break the record on Pike's Peak.' He was ridiculed beyond belief and set more reasonable goals and aspirations. When Matt Johnston tried to go for the Fiesta Cup and took a very logical and hard working approach, he was ridiculed and people talked shit about his Group 2 National Championship. Lisa has done things like entering Group 5 in a group 2 car so that she could have a trophy, made false claims about her results, and much over hyped her accomplishments. Not to mention things like her trashy 'business' cards. Maybe it's because we have so many women and families in Colorado involved in the sport that some of us take offense to her methods of attaining sponsorship while people like Aaron are stuck sitting on the sidelines due to the rising costs. But at this point, I don't really care. I'll go to Pike's Peak. I'll be stoked to check out her car. I'll cheer her on and be stoked when she goes by (unless she's really slow), but I would put $1000 on her not beating the record because I know what it takes to get below 12 minutes on that mountain and Lisa Klassen is no fucking Michelle Mouton.

To quote Dsport " This year, Lisa hopes that past experiance,a more refines race car and a little luck will put her name in the record books"I don't see anywhere where Lisa says she will win?? only she will try, like most racers she sets goals and will do her best
Last year leon was very angry with himself as he feels responsable for the teams poor showing, The car was not ready and Lisas first drive was the stage at the top of the hill and Lisa nearly want of on the first corner with no brakes, she never got one clean run in, everystage something broke fell of or simply didnt work Look at how danica Patric promotes herself, way more "risqe" than Lisa http://www.faniq.com/images/blog/danica-patrick-copertinap.jpg http://trendspulse.com/trends/2008/03/29/danica-patrick.html John |

Grant did you say Lisa entered in Gr5 in a Gr2 car or did you mean she had a Gr5 car and entered in Gr2, which I know she did not ? I know her poor old Corolla, frankly I wouldn't even give that car the chance to survive one stage, alas she persevered, That car was a sound as far as safety was concerned but mechanically SUCKED ASS. There is a Seed 9 Off Camber Hairpin video somewhere in the internet watch it and you will see what I mean. In 05, at Treeline which was the most fucked up rally I ever ran, we were betting who's car was gonna overheat first, ask Rebecca she codrove for her at that rally.
Bro, I would applaud anybody having a lesser car and competing in a higher class any day as opposed to talking trash about her. Beating Michelle Mouton, with whom I was desperately in love with in my earlier days of rallying, may indeed be a goal rather difficult to accomplish but when somebody sets a goal, no matter how ridiculous it may seam, it is he first step towards taking action instead of remaining stagnant. I bet history is full of 'idiots' setting such goals and taking action from which we all benefit today. We are here in the Americas because of one such arrogant utopist after all aren't we ? She may or she may not beat Michelle Mouton's time, or be a conformist, she may or may not be a goody two shoes poster child of US rally scene, she may or not fit this mold or that mold, all I, a run of the mill rallyist with 27 years of international rallying under his belt, care about is that she is actually out there rallying and promoting rallying. In my book she is more to US rallying than I will ever be. I'm done with this topic. I don't want anybody to take my comments as an attack or anything like that but sometimes somebody has to call a shovel a shovel.
