So I looked at the paragraph you suggested and the jist of the "news" story was Not the emphasis on Ms Volgers (whoever she is) hill climbing talents but that she is moving into performance rally with a female crew. Are you going to be competing in a full performance rally schedule? If so then maybe that's newsworthy. I don't know, and I don't even know who you are since you have failed to provide your REAL NAME as required by the site. I find it mildly ironic that you felt the need to CAPITALIZE your whole 4 years of experience in a post entitled "Bullshit hype"

They have to call her a "hill climb" specialist.

Its not like they could call her the co-driver that the team felt was too in-experienced to ride with Will for a full rally and still be able to be competitive.


For those that don't know who rebecca is.

Rebecca Greek, 4+ years of co-driving experience. Numerous top 10 and top 5 national rally finishes, some class podiums, some regional/club rally scratch times with her in the right seat, numerous CHCA record holdings, as well as entered at Sno-Drift in the right seat of car #24.

Keep Todd shiny side up and maybe he will finish a rally other than Laughlin!

rebecca is the shit when it comes to co-drivers and i completely agree with what she said and with what kevin said. the rally-america press statement there is just stupid hype and once again goes back to their gender, not performance. if it was based on performance, it wouldn't say hill climb specialist.

rebecca's right, she's the fucking hill climb specialist.

I laughed that they even mentioned Amy in the press release, though she is a fairly good driver and an awesome person from my very minimal experience. But isn't her car listed for sale?

I don't know that I would say I helped start RW. I WAS THE CREATOR, JUST KIDDING PEOPLE, that was bs hype.

I helped out with the magazine when it was just getting off the ground. I knew the person who created it and offered to help. I did some graphics work with my little graphic knowledge. Contributed a few articles here and there with my poor spelling.

It was a great expereince but sitting at Ojibew in 2003 in the pouring rain trying to gather information on all the action, I pretty much said, "what am i doing in the rain when I originally wanted to be in a car?" and then I switched.

I know that it was a press release and with my bit of experience that I did have with RW I understand that you can't say it like Kevin said it. (although that was funny). But I just had to call BS because calling someone a hill climb specialist after two events is silly. I could call my self a top hill climb driver then after finishing second in a mechanics race. I think it honestly could have been worder much better. But alas, it is hype. That's all it is.

Also Kevin, slow down with the hype on me. Rally Colorado this year was my first top five in a national event I am pretty sure. I have finished in the top ten a few times I think. Anyone who really wants to know I a have a full nerdy exel spread sheet with all of my results. But I am too lazy and too tired to go look it up and get the exact facts. But I have ridding with two drivers that hold or have held records at CHCA events and I belive, no I am pretty sure I was the 2007 Colorado Hill Climb Championpion Co-driver in Rally AWD. At least they gave me this sweet jacket that say so.

Todd has finished other rallies besides Laughlin. I think he finished rim one year and 100aw in like 2004 he was the PGT Club Rally Champion and I am sure there are more that I don't know about.

i heard grant actually ran over a land mine at an event and managed to still set top 5 times with only one leg.

he also told me for the fourth of july he plans on being the first person to do a complete front flip in a rally car while eating a ham sandwich. more details will be announced 2 days before we do it at which point in time we will be accepting applications from photographers to shoot the event. keep in mind though that all applications are due 2 weeks before the fourth of july and you must sign away your first born child unless you can forge a birth certificate.

oh, and he is going to beat the record on pikes peak, blindfolded!

Well if thats true that whatshername has only done 2 hillclimbs then I call BS on that too. But while we're pissing and moaning about bullshit hype can we stay away from terms like "Ultimate hillclimb specialist in the United States"?

I will refrain from referring to my self as the "Ultimate Hill Climb Specialist in the United States" for two reasons. First and most importantly, I have no idea what other hill climbs exist out side of Colorado. I have heard of some in the Pacific Northwest. But either way, I don’t have the facts to back it up so I won’t say that anymore
Second I don’t want the title. I hate co-driving in hill climbs. It's boring after the thrid run I have the road memorized, the drive has it memorized and the ride becomes, "lets look out the window on this corner and see how close to the edge we are!"

Hill climbs are good for a bit of practice with note delivery, seat time for the driver and social gathering.

Hey Grant,
I think you are going to need to add a bit of "fluff" into the CRC bios. Ultimately if the Cup is going to try and get some sponsor banking and is suppose to help promote our sport in Colorado you are going to need the hype. Just don't go to far with it state facts with out all the truth like.

"Mark Malsom who has had stage times with in seconds of some of the top drivers in the country is one driver in the cup to look out for." your not really lying at all, you are stating a fact.
