Not too shabby for either on their first stage rally!
Jeremy's first stage of the day came in a 11.13 sec/km slower than the eventual 2wd winner, but when you consider that stage has some significant exposures and Jeremy understeered off the stage on a test day mere weeks ago... I don't think you can complain about that. Really impressive is pulling hat down to a best pace gap of only 3.99 sec/k and an average of 6.97 sec/k Eric didn't have the handicap of scaring himself on the Test day, and out of the box he was a bit quicker with a first stage pace 6.66 seconds off the eventual 2wd winner. His best pace was 3.08 sec/k back and an average of 4.18 sec/k. Lots of room for improvement for sure, but newbies can shave a couple of seconds a k easily in a good, focussed, day of testing and/or training. I'll also say the conditions were anything but confidence inspiring! It was great to see you guys roll in at every service and to see your smiling faces at the end of the event. Jeremy pulls up to the timing control at the end of the last stage, co-driver yells "Are we on fire?", I tell him not right now but it's close best get moving to cool those brakes. Ear to ear grins on all 4 guys as they finished a race that took out some very seasoned drivers. Great job and thanks for the entertainment!

yeah chomping at the bit for rmr in june. even doing my best captain slow impersonation that was exilerating. thanks for the kind words. made some deals with my self, no offs, no opposite lock ( my steering hub extender got lost in the mail) and arm position wasn't optimal for swatting bees with two hands. and smooth hand movement. lastly test grip of everything that looked scary. my poor codriver jamie was bored to tears but we managed to go fast. almost get air and go fast through some corner combos i knew to show jamie im only half a puss.

Rally Hangover is exactly as it sounds.
That feeling you've been hit by a truck, are exhausted, and semi-non-functional for some period of time following an event. It applies to organizers as hard as to teams, BTW. I think mine was starting before the novice meeting. I always write off the day after a rally weekend, with luck it will be a travel day for me and I don't lose much. I'm 100% sure I also asked a TC volunteer this same question on my first rally, on the stage that ended on a downhill section. Congrats Eric! My main rally hangover symptom is driving slow around town, since I just got my fast driving fix. And zero desire to play Dirt Rally on the computer since I just did the real deal. Brap Brap. |

It's not so much exhaustion as it is life being boring. Real world is so boring. Nothing worse than a government job conference call Monday morning after a rally. Grant Hughes |
