You know that I do not value what you have done in your life, do not have any of your values for that matter, so you must hate me. As I said you're a "Never was". You're not even a big fish in a small pond. And you're 40 now and know you never will be anything (other than somebody stooge). So you hate. It's a shame cause your bitterness ruins you. Since you need it explained to you, the sarcasm came from Dave comparing John's complaint about how notes should be cheaper since they are so easy to do to John's production of suspension parts. Suspension parts should be cheaper because they are so easy to do. Further more, John complains that all the details of the cost to make notes is not revealed while Dave complains that John does not reveal all the costs of making suspension parts.
Sarcasm can be used to make a point or to be humorous. In this case, Dave was using it to make a point and not to be humorous. I do tend to find John's ranting humorous at times. RichardM |

John and Dave dudes I am so happy that you guys are on opposite sides of the country I do not think that the time space continium could handle you both living in the same state. Get it all out you. THere now let's sit down, hug and sing Kum Bay Ya.
John, I have met you and talked to you on numerous occassions not to mention many responses in various public forums. I personally appreciate your assistance and advice. I have been very happy with the products you sell. Dave, we have met and drank many a beer at various east coast rally functions. I am glad that you are putting the time in to make notes available and I have seen you provide good advice to many a newbie coriver. There I said it neither of you suck! Comparing suspension parts to providing rally notes is comparing apples to oranges. One is a service and one is a service with an actual product. Some might argue that notes are the product but how much does a pound of paper weigh against a pound of high quality steel?
I enjoy reading Johns posts, in fact if i am short on time i only read his posts. They event make me laugh! I think he usually points out the important things (and usually quotes everything anyway). He has helped me while providing me with a final drive at a very reasonable price and i hope to be doing more business with him in the near future. I know he has answer for most technical stuff. These days i just call him directly and get my answers that way. I wish there were more people with his knowledge in the US which he doesnt mind sharing a bit and definetely straight up without any BS. Saying John doesnt do much for US or NA Rally would not be fair! For safety related things I go to Mark Bowers (thanks for your help again) and for technical stuff i go to John. Everyone else seems to be licking their own and someone elses arses. Oscar rally gods would turn in their graves if they ever knew Lada's were now part of EU rallying!!! |

A pound of paper weighs only 16 ounces while a pound of high quality steel weighs exactly that. Funny you should pick that comparison.
Now, which is worth more, intellectual property or real property? I won't venture an opinion except to point out that Bill Gates developed intellectual property. RichardM |

Yeah but not everyone is Bill Gates (as much as i dont like him nor do i think he is a genius). Everyone can learn how to operate a vehicle and connect a couple of cables from a laptop to rally computer. With a little bit of rally knowledge and common sense i am sure things like "dont cut, kicks, crest, caution" can be pointed out. Jemba Sweden will even teach you how to operate this thing right? As much as its not a secret (John has mentioned how he came up with his rates to me at least) how many people know what spring rates and dampening figures to run? How many have access to a machine shop that knows a thing or two about suspension? (Check out labour rates at machine shops!) Even if you had all the access and knowledge a proper suspension would not cost you a lot less than what JVL is charging... One of the other reasons Johns stuff is available at that price is he does a run of a few which drives some of his costs down.If you could get it done cheaper and at same quality/strength i can assure you, you will have plenty of customers waiting in line. And if you dont like his product you can always shop elsewhere. In comparison imagine if there were no other suspension producers besides DMS, just like nothing else other than Jemba. I am sure someone would wanna build something cheaper, right?
Monopolies are not too good particularly in small industries. It just drives costs much higher. BTW on my previous post i meant to compare "cost" not weight rally gods would turn in their graves if they ever knew Lada's were now part of EU rallying!!! Edited 1 time(s). So every one can write the soft ware to make the computer spit out the right info??? Just like every one can turn steel into suspension pieces??? And the differences between these two skills is what? Beyond that I can't do either that is.
By the way, you stated that you have 5 years of secondary education. In my ignorance does that mean you made it in school 2 years past Jethro? He made it to third grade. Or is secondary education conidered college and you attend college for at least 5 years? Good way to avoid the draft except when I was trying that you only got 4 years of escape. RichardM |
