The problem becomes, if you control race fuel but allow uncontrolled 'pump' fuel, then you end up with people using additives or storing race fuel in the woods and saying they are running 'pump.'
If you start testing 'pump' gas, then it needs to be a standard fuel and checking for an added marker. (onsite octane testing is difficult)
I understood that the Panta 91 was actually a race fuel made by Elf for Jean-Marc... at least that's what he was telling us when we looked at - and ultimately turned down - a spec-fuel for the CRC.

If I remember correctly, the rule states something like:

the price of normal 91 octane will be that of the cheapest gas station in a range of x km + 10c or something... Other fuels are Penta race fuel.


Rally is kinda like motocross, 80% driver, 20% machine so cheating with race gas seems pointless specially If you have a stock engine or close to.

We see a lot of people, particularly newbies, focus on more power, more trick parts, more everything EXCEPT driver development. We also see them struggle to keep up with a car with half the power and a talented driver.
