Unless you were to "race" your car in the US or show it at a "car show" (if trailering is less than duty).

When you're only in the States for 20 minutes it's tough not to declare stuff and pay the man... I do it and complain about it! Really pissed me off when I had to pay duties at all on rebuilt inserts... everything was listed as a fee i.e labor.

"Oh if you sent something to the US and had it re-furbished we should charge you taxes/duties as if it were new, but I'll just charge you on teh rebuilding fees this time..." WTF? Time to shut up and suck it up. Argue and they could tear your car apart for fun and leave you to put it back together!

One of the many costs of rallying and cross border shoping!

One of the joys of dealing with useless bureaucrats who really have nothing useful to do with their lives and want to throw their "power' around.

You don't have to hurry!
20 minutes is waaay too fast to do a proper strut change when not in service.
A little sight-seeing, lunch and finding a dumpster to dispose of the old (stock/bent/worn out) struts could take a few hours. About the same amount of time that meet & greet took at the "dealership" or the mount of time it takes to get eliminated 1st round?

I like the way you think Randy! If things were less rushed. I think we'll just call them "Warrenty - No Charge" and if they don't like that I'll give them Johns phone number :-) On second thoughts that would pretty much guarentee I'd not make the rally!
