Well John. I know the Xratty forums have not been fair to you. Just cause some shitheads are cry babies. Does not mean the rest of the ones that want parts don't want them anymore. Could you post us and update? I myself am getting tried of the Xratty forums. I don't seem to fit the bill. I don't post much anymore. So you are not the only one. Please with sugar on top.

Porter,

I wasn't going to say anything but since John hasn't chimed in yet. Maybe I can give you a brief overview about what I know, then JV can come in and clean up after me if he likes.

The fabricator dude JV is working with on the 606 beam is apparently making himself hard to get a hold of. JV is limited on time since he has to complete projects to pay the monthly bills and finish others that take a bit longer and have a more immediate need. JV and certain portions of the Merkur "community" defiantly have some disagreements so at this point he's reluctant (at the very least) to really do anything that requires extensive effort for probbaly a few reasons.

I know a few guys have stuck them into the OEM round beam with a few additions of some angle iron or brackets welded on to accept the Supra diff.

I'd really like to see the 606 beam come to existence but I'd honestly expect the Voyota Axel and 4-link setup for 240's before the 606 beam comes to light. Maybe that could be changed if enough people showed they REALLY were interested. The cash in hand kind of interested.

JV is on here every day pretty much but he's definately more of a phone kind of guy so you might give him a call. He's not the scary asshole curmudgeon that he is sometimes portrayed as.

Are you on MCA or MS or that god awful IMON list? Whats you cute screen name?

My pretty little screeny name is GeneticRehab. I have talked to John on the phone many times. I have been very tired lately. I'm working 7 days a week. My job is not a normal one at that(but I know my shit there). I'm just not feeling the clique thing on MS for sure. I have never really fit in anywhere really. Just an odd man out I guess. Go here to see my yob. http://www.geocities.com/fast4banger2001/Pics_Media.html

Well I have to feed the cats. There all staring at me right now. I wish they would feed them selves.

I vaguely remember the name but recognize the sig pic with the rare gold XR. You also have the quad headlamp grille I like. I'm know as Frag on most of the other Forums I'm on but kind of dig the Real name thing you know? I'm not on MS much, not enough quality content to keep it in the daily forum rotation but will check it out a few times a week during slow times at work which are common for me. Been there done that with the 8 day work weeks. I Wouldn't wan't to do it again and I sit at a desk and punch buttons all day. I love my 4x10 shifts a lot more free time to do stuff especially working 1 day from home.

Hey JV, you sleepin on this thread or what?

A good diff with a better final drive than my welded stock would have helped tremendously. A friend said after the event, 'We have to get that Supra diff in your car before you do another event.'

Car is loaded up with another 20 strut tubes and 30 Supra diff adaptors to drop off in Everett, then we'll swing by Sean the Fab Guy and see what (if anything) has been done on the beams.
And the 3" downpipes and the sump guard supports and the alternator and PS mounts
Wanna bet?

Already talking to another fab place cause 3 fucking years is 2 years and 6 months too long.

Well to weld 10 beams in a fixture should not take more than 2 days. I use to do production mig welding when I was younger. So 2 days is even like to long.

Kevin er... I mean John,

Good to hear!

Be sure to set a down pipe and ALT relocation kit to the side for me. Some other dude merkurdriver is selling ALT relocation kits for like $120 or some absurd price and it looks Janky as hell. I'm probably going to hold off on the beam but maybe after you get that done you can work something out for the street guys in a stock beam till we can upgrade later?

I'm especially interested in time frame as Sean up there also has offered to get me his setup to run the BMW diffs on a stock beam. I like the Supra as I already have two diffs and they're probably superior to the BMW, which is superior to my stock welded. Especially since I want to do some track days.

Hell, if I lived closer I would weld them up myself for JV. I'm in Cleveland, so that makes postage real high for that. I have the diff myself. I'm getting ready to buy a 3.9 diff also. It is sad that JV puts a lot of time and effort into all of this. And because some of these thin skin whinny babies have to ruin it. I know 3 people here (Cleveland) that would like one. I know I do. Hell, I may get two for both my cars.

Go with the supra diff. It really doesent take that much time or effort to come up with a different mounting setup untill the 606 is done.

Take a look at what I did in the archives and you can see that you can use the factory beam with little to no changes.

This has held up to hard street use so far and could possibly hold up to rally conditions. Who knows im not an expert.

I think it only took me a couple of days start to finish to make mine and all I had to come up with was a set of super jvab axle adapters and a driveline to fit. All the metal I used was just stuff sitting around so free for me.

Just Do It!

Ill try to get off my butt and take a few pictures of the running product.

Then Ill post them here for all those interested.

I built one more set for a local roundy round racer. He needs to get his drive line situation figured out and then he will be in buisness with one more car out there with a supra diff!

Mabe I should machine a slot for a big O ring in the adapter so I can contain some of that precious cv joint grease. Or mabe thats just some underbody protection!!!
