Ok, so I had to rebuild the handbrake master cylinder, and rework the lever to actually get the wheels to lock up. John and I finished that up last night, and we were gonna go today, but I talked to John this morning and I sez "Hey, Adam's gonna be out there on Sunday, so why don't we just go out there tomorrow, coz we're not going on BOTH days, are we?" And John sez "good point, we'll do it tomorrow then."

So today, we work on car a bit more. Actually, probably working on the Toyota 3rd member (god that sounds rude) and start looking at caliper mounting for the rear axle.

Well yes there were a number of cones massercrated to death.
Kevin won the prize for most cones overall by a default decision when Adam Crane "was DNFed" after mowing down too many.

It seems bunches of 2wd cars beat the 4wd cars...or something like that, and I was 3rd 2wd, Adams buddy Jack Russel who was also driving the car was 2nd and somebody won it,
Thought about it dinner that I haven't driven anything on dirt or gravel since July 1997

CONE ACAUST
CONE POCALYPSE
CONE TASTROPHY
CONE ACIDE

Jack Russell, after i graciausly let him win, is officially hooked.

Nate Tennis failed to show, and
Kris Dahl only ran saturday, with a DNF last run? tell us about it.

also note when checking the results, that the course changed and was watered twice for the afternoon session vs. once for the street tire guys on sunday.

Cars lining up on the grid.

JVL and I both drove my car. We got five runs each, and Graham got two fun runs, and said it was the best $4 he ever spent. While JVL was driving, I took pictures and movies, and of course, while I was driving JVL smoked ciggies and BS'd with the medical crew.

JVL driving my car:

Adam Crane's Corolla then JVL in my car:

Adam Crane's Corolla:

More JVL driving:

Back at home, just before shower and food:

John got 3rd in Rally2, and I got the ConeKiller award (46 cones in 5 runs! :-P)

Notes:
A worn out TrueTrac totally sucks.
Seats are too low.
Car is very quiet on the outside.
Need to tighten up all the suspension hardware before the event.
Need faster steering and proper alignment.
Gotta get a windshield squirter bottle in the car.
Fix the rear brakes.

I think we were third overall behind Rachner and Ellis when had another outer CV joint go out.

We wanted to shake down the new front suspension/cross member/radius rods, make sure nothing broke. Mission accomplished I guess.

Had a pretty good time... Ended up winning the raffle for the Team Dynamics rally wheels, so that was pretty sweet.

Meanwhile I think I've actually finally solved the CV joint problem once and for all, but probably won't be able to implement before Wild West. Here is hoping its not TOO tight and twisty.

Shame you guys didn't come out on Saturday or I didn't get out there on Sunday.

Cheers,
-k

Hey all,

I'm a bit new to these forums (in fact I randomly ran into someone on the street who directed me here) but being that I was at this rally-x, thought I'd jump in on the discussion.

P.s. here's a pic of me, and a video of the rally! smiling smiley
