having doubts that the cage will be rally legal....wrinkle slicks would be fun on the tarmac....until you had to stop/turn.

Shit, I knew I was over looking something! Seriously though. Comes pre-lightened of crap, has more power than you need. I don't think it comes with a cage.. but maybe it does. The reason I posted it was you could likely race as it came aside from cage and some other fiddly shit.. well you'd have to do something with the suspension most likely. and you'd have no trouble getting sponsorship.. who ISN'T going to notice the dude rallying a new challenger? Edit: Ok, yes, you would have to change the tires and at least the front wheels. Andrew M Onterrible 30ish Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/16/2008 05:37PM by hudson. |

BTW is this a serious discussion? I'm confused. They've built a dedicated drag car for 30K and someones gonna remove all that junk on it to build a rally car with the only benifit being that they've stripped the shell for you. Gone fishing |

Seems like everyone is missing the point. I'm talking about the _car_ not necessarily this particular "drag pak" option. RWD = Yes More HP than you need = Yes Different = Yes High Profile = Yes Decent on Stage = Who the fuck knows That's all! Andrew M Onterrible 30ish |

But as cool as I think these are (Just saw one on the road with the 6.1L) Do you really wanna spend that much money on the base car and then develop suspension, brakes that fit under 15" wheels etc etc etc just to FIND OUT if it's a decent stage car. I mean why not take any american rear driver with a V8 and a big diff in the back? Gone fishing |

The car weighs something like 4000 lbs. It's based on the Chrysler Mafia Staff Car chassis, which is rehashed late 90s E-class Benz junk. It probably has like 4 inches of suspension travel and looks like it's larger than my wife's old 87 Monte Carlo.
A fun muscle car for tarmac and smoky burnouts? Sure! Good for gravel? I doubt it. Andrew Steere Lyndeborough, NH KB1PJY |

I saw a rally car with a v8 once. it was of all things, an xr4ti. I guess that would make it an xr8bb. It was slow and loud and kept breaking. I bow down to J Buffum, but a triumph aint no detroit iron. In the ad for that Goat they say its 1000lb lighter than stock? How fucking much is stock!
BUT...If you were thinking of doing a tarmac car,you might just have something there. you could kick a lot of ass for pretty darn cheap. You would be a rock star at Targa Newfee. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/17/2008 12:44AM by alkun. |
