Don't be hatin!
How come yall are sippin on all that Haterade?? I can't believe how many excuses you can come with to hate on people. I've watched that video 20 times, showed all my friends.. It's so damn cool. I used to watch skate videos all the time and this is very reminiscent of them, just trade the skateboard for a Gonzo hawg nuts AWD tire smokin animal. I can't wait for the next one... and I hope other people do similar things with their time. It's entertaining. I love chase scenes in movies, stunt driving, and synchronized driving. Maybe they'll start making ramps and getting cars to do corkscrews in the air and land on the wheels and drive away. It would make one hell of a blooper reel. Michael LeCompte Edited 2 time(s). Pat Moro let me drive his xgames car at our local gokart track doing the same basic thing as Ken, and let me just say, I haven't had that much fun in a car ever! And I've raced Formula Atlantics to World Challenge and rallied a Mini, a MK2 Escort, a Golf and a PGT subaru. Granted it wasn't competition so it was a different type of fun, but I doubt that there is anyone who likes driving at all, could get out of the car after doing that without a HUGE smile. And want to do it again and again.
I thought going in I wasn't going to like it, I only stopped when there was nothing but cords left! |

Can't write much---on big drugs cause I got whack in the eye by the corner of a book thrown by my crazy liitle Anna and have a bad scratch in the cornea and the other ey is streaming tears..
However. THIS COUNTRY IS FUCKED UP IN MANY WAYS. ONE CRITICAL WAY IN WHICH THIS COUNTRY REMAINS FUCKED UP IS BECAUSE OF THE LONG SAD TRADITION, BACKED UP BY MEDIA, FILM AND SOCIAL REINFORCEMENT, OF SIMPLISTIC THINKING AND SIMPLISTIC EXPRESSION BE IT SPEECH OR WRITING. PERSONALLY I'M FUCKING FED UP WITH SIMPLE MINDED ANALYSIS. SEEMS THE WHOLE FUCKINMG COUNTRY HAS THE FUCKIN REASONING ABILITY AND POWER OF REFLECTION OF A 13 YEAR OLD BOY FROM FUCKIN ORANGE COUNTY. SO IN RESPONSE TO THOSE HERE SHOWING THEIR DEEP THINKING AND CAREFUL ANALYSIS, LISTEN UP; JUST BECAUSE I AM UNIMPRESSED WITH THE MAIN MESSAGE PRESENTED IN THIS SHORT FILM, AND JUST BECAUSE I KNOW THAT VIRTUALLY ANYBODY WITH ACCESS TO SIMILAR CAR, TIRES, FUEL,TIME AND AN EXCELLENT CAMERA CREW BUT ABOVE ALL AN EDITOR WHO IS SHARP COULD PRODUCE A SIMILAR FILM DOES NOT MEAN THAT I AM A "HATER". FOR YOU SIMPLEMINDED PEOPLE WHO OBVIOUSLY BELIEVE THERE ARE ON TWO POLES OF EMOTIONS, TWO DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSED POSSIBLE THOUGHTS OR RESPONSES TO ANY GIVEN SITUATION, THE WHOLE RANGE OF POSSIBLE REACTIONS LOVE OR HATE, WAKE THE FUCK UP. BLOCK HIMSELF SAID IN A THREAD ON SPECIAL STAGE WHERE PEOPLE WERE SAYING THAT THEY THOUGHT THE WHOLE X GANES STUFF WAS A BIT OVERPRODUCED, ANDTRYING TO BE "GLITZY' THAT ANYBODY NOT IMPRTESSED WITH HIM AND THE SHOW WAS A "HATER" bLOCK IS A STUPID PERSON. hE MAY BE SUCCESSFUL IN HYPE. BUT HE IS STUPID NONTHELESS. That's what I thought... John, stop hating rich guys. They earned their money and can damn well spend it any way they please.
He's just having fun and - IF he did driving - it is quite impressive! It ain't easy to nail those turns like he did with sticky tires. - RWD rocks - |

i am kind of surprised he was able to get away with that on KDW2's. We tested a set on an Ariel Atom once and the little tread blocks were ripping completely off the tire. We were testing on a high grip surface though, maybe the dirty/dust airbase helped the tires from coming apart.

something else I've been wanting to point out is some above said something about gali and one take and blah blah
one take? blind? whatever was said above, I could go back and look, but I'm not going to what about recce? and notes? and a codriver? you call that driving blind? I call that driving pretty damn well prepared and another thing I'd like to point out, at the begining of that film, there was a specific word used and that word was "PRACTICE" reading comprehension anyone? so, when practicing, do you do it just once and then say it's all good? if someone handed me the key to a gate that led to 8 miles of logging roads and said it's mine to practice on for the day, I can assure you that I would not run that road just once, I'd be up and down it all damn day, and if I happened to have a camera crew too, I'd want to get lots and lots and lots of shots, and if I happened to be lucky enough to have sponsors of any sort I sure as fuck wouldn't take their stickers off my car before abusing that stretch of road all day yes, this post is late coming, and I should have said it all with my first post or two, but I'm slow and I did all sorts of fun stuff this weekend that kept me away from the computer (like going to the national roller derby matches on Saturday, where there were lots of cute very tall women wearing very short skirts, yum yum and yum) sorry, done ranting, just had to get that all out, even if it is a bit late |

So the explicit message that not being impressed is not equal to hatings seems to have just slipped on by some of you.
Is that really such a difficult concept? Oi. John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! Pacific Standard Time is 3 hours behind Eastern Standard Time. |

John perhaps certain amongst us are busy wiping the E-Phlegm away that you managed to spit up so far.
The amount of E-Phlegm you throw about is amazingly effective at seeing to it that any message you may have been trying to get across (aside from making an ass of yourself again) is well and truly lost. John your online persona is much different then in person. You may wish to have a look at just what you are doing that gets you banned from so many different bullitin boards. You know that time attack video that has been thrown around everywhere, with some doofus driving around like a complete tool? I was thinking about it on the way home from teh rallycross last night. I could, with a small amount of effort, take the roughly 15 minutes of in-car video I took and slice it, dice it, apply some really basic editing tricks, intersperse with stills, overlay with some energy-laden techno style music, and make it look like the BADDEST ASSED THING EVER. Just like that time attack video, which I think used the same four or five clips over and over again. Only difference is, I'll have the unedited stuff available too. And this was by far the slowest, most disgusting, painfully crappy rallycross I have been to that was not cancelled halfway through - it was like driving on soupy peanut butter and the main object was keeping enough momentum to not get stuck, maybe. If it wasn't fun it would have been depressing. Definitely NOT the most baddest assed thing ever. Hey, "enlightened" Dude, leave me out of your rant against JVL. I have nothing against rich shoe makers filming their car stunts. My issue was, is, and will remain the drug dealer sponsorship. JVL doesn't care about the drug dealer sponsorship (as you can read in his post from November 14). Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/17/2008 07:55AM by Jens. |

It was entertaining, but comparing it to "Climb Dance" is like comparing a music video to the movie "The Russian Ark". (Yeah, unlikely you've seen it, so what you need to know is: "It was filmed using a single 90-minute Steadicam sequence shot."

Bob's night rallycross? I agree, it was the worst I had ever been to.
I was there as well. I ended up just leaving after the first run. When it took twice the time to get the initial 4 runs, and where I drove out there in my heater-less rally car to barely move through the peanut butter mud at 15mph, I wasn't happy. Plus I ended up getting sick afterwards because standing in the freezing cold, completely soaked through my jacket, and from the calves down my pants/socks/shoes were soaked as well. It would have been awesome if it wasn't wet. But the organizer knew it was going to rain all week. And even with all day rain forcasted the day before he said, "Just called the guys up and the place is dry so we're good to go!" not even thinking about a full day of rain. |
