Tulosruudun saamien tietojen mukaan Subarun WRC-talli aikoo vetäytyä rallin MM-sarjasta.

Ilmoittautuminen rallin MM-sarjaan kaudelle 2009 päättyy tänään maanantaina.

Subarua lähellä olevan lähteen mukaan talli ilmoittaa vetäytymispäätöksestään tiistaina. Vielä maanantaina Subarun tiedotuksesta kerrottiin tallin ajavan Irlannista tammikuun lopulla starttaavalla MM-kaudella 2009.

Subarun kuljettajilla Petter Solbergilla ja Chris Atkinsonilla on voimassaolevat sopimukset vuodelle 2009.

Suzuki-talli ilmoitti maanantaina vetäytyvänsä MM-sarjasta maailman taloustaantuman aiheuttamien rahoitusongelmien vuoksi.

Ok this seems to be a vague idea of what was reportedin the Finnish:
Print Screen has received information according to Subaru WRC-stall plans to withdraw from the Rally Champion MM-sarjasta.Ilmoittautuminen World Rally Championship 2009 season ends today maanantaina.Subarua close to the source of the stall to inform vetäytymispäätöksestään Tuesday. Even on Monday, Subaru of information was told to push the stable from Ireland at the end of january will start in the World Cup season 2009.Subarun drivers Petter Solberg holds and Chris Atkinson has existing contracts for the year 2009.Suzuki-stall on Monday announced its withdrawal from the MM-series of worldwide economic recession caused by financial problems.

How many years could they go on with zero success?

The drive nearly on rails do everything for you but wipe your ass modern WRCs are too boring to watch and if nobody watches, it hain't worth doing.

Good job that all the MFGs lobbied thru the World Rally Car rules and fucked themselves.

It would seem to contradict the offer to Marcus Gronholm...

So, the "S2000+" comes in 2010, right? Making 2009 the last year of AWD. (Dunno if I'm correct there... foggy memory.) Who's left to compete in the WRC?

Unless the offer was made by the team assuming the parent company was going to be comming up the funds for the foreseeable future. And now the parent company looks at its balance sheet and decides hmmm maybe we can't afford rally right now.

Anders, S2000 spells the end of turbos. Not AWD. S2000 cars use a spec AWD drivetrain and limit the displacement 2000 CC.

"I"..."Me"........Feel ..........

This is good ... WRC has been die for some time now ... The "shovel money at it" racing always seems to die......

It got out of control money wise and killed its self...And Subaru real help kill rally ...

It will be a better sport in the end ...

Now if we can get them to kill AWD and go to 2WD ...

I think it would be cool to make the cars ..AWD one race ..The next race the same car is run in FWD ...Then RWD...The winner of the last race pulls what you run in the next race out of a hat...

Just some things that "I" see would be nice ...

Flame away on me ..

Well it is offical now. Subaru has pulled out of the WRC. Looks like prodrive is going to reassign all of their WRC people to other projects.

I wonder if Ford will stay in? I guess it depends on how well funded the team is from other sources.

Ahh. I thought they were FWD. But I also thought that the WRC S2000 spec added a turbo kit to the S2000 package. ?

Cheers,
Anders

They say they are still in. They say that WRC is good value.

I am trying to imagine JV shedding crocodile tears for SWRT. Don't worry, John, they are continuing the Grp-N program and Ken Block still seems to be recession proof. ;-)

I wonder all this will trickle down to NA rallying.
