Out of curiousity?
February 04, 2009 08:23PM
Why all the purposeful stupid spelling of cars/parts/words/etc? I mean, typos are one thing, but the rest?

Just to mix it up... the kettles looking kinda calm lately

I have to admit though.. it does a good job of not turning cars/makes into idolic things.. it is after all a collection of parts you're planning on dodging trees with.

And children wonder why we think they are so clueless.
Thank you Andrew, nail on the head.
Timmy should go stand in the corner with the point hat on for 2 hours.

Yeah, but realizing its just a car should be good enough. Whether you call it a Toyota or a toileta? however the fuck you spell that dumbass word, a subaru or a subarat, its still a car. Its a tool to move you from point A to b... REALLY REALLY fast.

What about Listen to Lissen? whatcha-thunk? I'm not talking just cars here...

You know Timmy, your fucking bitching about silly names of cars and being obviously totally clueless why a person woul;d habitually have a name for every car, yet somehow you don't complain about all these "cutsie" screen names evrybody has on every forum strikes me as fuckin odd.

I was speaking with my dear wife about Adam's Crane's beginning build and I "well that kid Timmy did good research on his stuff and settled more of less pretty close to the same choices as I might suggest, good job"

But man you miss the importance/unimportance divide by a fucking mile.

Since your so utterly clueless Timmy let me explain more clearly:
Its playing with language.
If you worked under the clock on cars, and lived on your own where you have to pay the rent and the gas and the food and the electricity etc etc, for any length of time, you probably would have lots of names for cars, car parts and things in general.

I mean WOT DA FAWK, Tim I often have a hard time understanding what the fuck you're talking about, your verbal skills in technical matters are not stellar and you have to simper and snivvel about calling cars by silly/creative names?

Let me ask you this:
Why do think that very many of those with cars of various sorts usually begin referring to their cars by some of these silly names?
And referring to other cars by the silly names?

As for other purposeful creative spelling they are renderings of imagined ways of speaking, sorta poking fun at the trade I'm in.
As you will find when you grow up and talk with more adults, most people perceive car mechanics to be in many cases, knuckleheads, Neanderthals, and lunk heads.

Many are. Many are cultural ignoramuses, and barely speak one langueage, know nearly nothing of the history, literature, social theory, art, music or politics of their own country much less a single other place.

I build car stuff. I have worked on cars for now 25 years fulltime and on race bikes 15 years before that. I have been lumped in with the general "lumpen"pro-le mechaniat" crowd, but as you may be dimly aware, I am not linguistically, culturally, historically, politically, etc monogamous.
Even at my advanced age I am still chipping slowly away at learning to read yet more languages, venturing in Russian ....

As such, making fun with the stereotypes the broad population often have towards those who work on cars, build parts for car etc is just having some fucking fun, kid.

You fucking really think I say with some exaggerated idiotic Boston accent "Oi! Youse guys is alls fucked up!!

Lacking any tonal or physical references I realy don't know what your intent with this thread was, but you seem to have a tendancy to complain about things and people.

Mellow the fuck out, dooooooooood
Youse are harshing our like collective mellows, doood.

oh heavens, this place is so mild with the off spelling, having been at OT (big evil place) since 01, I've gotten so bad that I even had one of my trucking brokers using "prolly" instead of "probably" and that's one of the more common ones

sammich instead of sandwich
teh instead of the
evar instead of ever
pron instead of porn
tarp instead of trap (It's a Tarp!)

and then there's the things like "11tybillion" (a personal favorite)

fawking with language is simply too much fun not to do
