Hey Keith, this makes searching craigslist easier.
You can edit the cities.txt to just have cities you want or you can search everywhere. http://nocoastmotorsports.net/CLSearch/ Save the .exe and cities.txt to the same folder. Grant Hughes |

I finished installing my swank custom housings for the DMS fronts on the car. Got the rest of the suspension bolted up and drove the car to work today. Other than getting 3 miles down the road and realizing I did not have a valid plate or registration or proof of insurance in the car it was a smooth ride in. Plus the rally car has working windshield wipers which is more than I can say for my daily driver RX-7.

I know I'm slow and things sometimes might go astray sometimes, or according to some here I'm a vicious criminal relentlessly and cavalierly raping innocents, but I think even i could have turned around you new strut bottoms in, oh, a day. It doesn't take a ton of analysis to see the problem was two fold, both radius and material thickness. I think i said is is essentially the same as Xratties and Sierra, and that I make bottoms for those. What did the new bottoms cost all told? (You can say, I want to know...) Are you going to go all over the Intra-webs in 4 to 10 years and complain bitterly about what a rip off DMS was? Thanks Grant - if I were seriously searching that would be useful.

Finished up rerouting brake lines, installing rx-7 calipers and sooperbitchin adapters, and bled the system with super blue.
One hang up. Rx7 calipers will not fit under the sirius volvo wheels I am currently running. How have others cured this? Spacers? Grinding of the caliper and/or wheel? Rallyx is sun need to button this up. Zap zap my ass... |

Last night @ Salta: used valve spring dyno and figured out that phase 1 valve springs are 22% stiffer. EJ20 heads now have upgraded valve springs and swapped from shim on bucket to shimless buckets-definitely a more durable setup. Need to clean up a couple of cam bearings and then begin working on the bottom end. Thanks to Brian and Steve @ Salta for pointing me in the right direction and for the use of their tools and shop!

ej257 crank now has Cosworth rod bearings and Eagle rods. Case halves have Cosworth main bearings. Waiting for case o-rings. Going together nicely. Used 1500 sandpaper on cams, cam bearings and buckets-turns overs a lot smoother now. Swapped tires on the street car-took off 15" Team Dynamics with 195/65/15 Hankook snow tires and put on 17" Rota's with 245/40/17's-it's canyon time!

Yeah, considering what they are going on, I figured that they would be 10". Never heard of Colway before and now they are out of business. Too bad. They made gravel tires in the same sizes used on the works TR7s. Buffum ran 15s, so I guess that is a possibility. However, 15s always seemed to be out of proportion to the rest of the car. Maybe I have just seen too many photos of the works cars with 13s, but they just "look right" on the car. alan |
