I don't recall. I think one was less likely to fade or something along that line. Mine's sat outside and gets a full half a day of sun for the last year without fading. Though maybe I just can't tell cause of all the dirt. One of these days I'll clean my car...

Finished 2 out of 4 of the mounts for the IRS subframe. After checking each measurment at least 12 times - everything is perfectly centered and squared. Tacked in the other 2 and then ran out of welding gas.......always the worst timing for that huh

I swear everytime I've ran out of welding gas it's been at like 10 am on a Sunday when I've dedicated the whole day to working on something that requires a welder...

Started removing brackets. Learned how not to use a spot welder cutter. Eventually learned how to use it. Maybe not correctly, but not so badly as I was.

Removed enough wiring harness that it it is all now in the right front corner of the car. Still need to figure out how to feed the front harness back through the fender (the car predates plastic fender liners; the harness runs behind a welded and sealed liner). I have already marked up the wiring changes on the schematic, so I want to get the harnesses out so I can start modifying and testing the harness.

Removed the windscreen without breaking it or destroying the trim. Did manage to dent the a-pillar a bit.

Vacuumed the spiders and webs off of the bottom of the car. Started scrubbing the dirt off of the underside of the car.

Working through the latest design problem. The interior of the TR7 is a little tight for a standard racing seat. What the works team did (and a lot of TR7 racers/rallyists still do) was lower the floor. However, this creates another problem by complicating the routing of the exhaust. Another option would be to not lower the floor and find a lay-back seat, like the Race Tech RT Saker. However, it is not a homologated seat and a standard HANS might not work with it (the seat back angle is too great). Still deciding what to do.

Meanwhile, I started stripping paint and then hitting the bare metal with etching primer.

I was going to have to take a break from working on the car this coming weekend because I am Steward at Mountain Trials, but it looks like fire risk is going to postpone the rally.

I pressure washed all the No Alibi dirt off the the car. I then found a large chunk of metal embedded in one of my tires! It looks like the pressure to turn the car around for Mt. Trials is off.

Robert.

Alan if you plan on running the lay down type seats you might look into the Defnder H&NR. Hans also makes one for seats like that but the beauty of the defnder is that its angle is adjustable so you can ride along with others that have normal seats.

JVL I'll give you a ring here soon when I have some time. I think Robert was saying the pressure is off because the event has been canceled.

Not cancelled yet. Paul Westwick is supposed to make the call today.

I got most of the brackets finished to mount the volvo Radiator/IC in the car. Also picked up a throttle body plate from William @ TSS so I can finish my upper plenum.

Fixed up my rear wheel bearing that was a bit loose at Sno*Drift. Bleeding the brakes today and cleaning up the car for a track day tomorrow. NEFR is looking to be on the horizon so I gotta start getting the car ready.

Hydro handbrake done.

edit:
cock gobbling POS Wilwood master cylinder hydraulic circuits are backwards. The ony closest to the flange is the outlet not the inlet!

Spent 1/2 hour getting a firm pedal and I grabbed my new happy-handle and it did nothing. WTF? Applied the regular brake and it went soft for a moment. Grabbed handle and it just pushed the brake pedal up. FUUUUCK.

I'm just going to cut and splice the lines, I didn't make them long enough for them to be easily switched. (M/C is stuffed between the trans tunnel and the passenger seat)
