I figured out why my volvo was driving funny:

Whoops! I wonder how that happened...
Skidplate just got bumped up the "to do" list.

Wednesday I took the car over to Derek's house, and he welded in a couple more bars, harness bars on each side of the main "X", as per Gene's request, just trying to prevent the "I am going to bust your balls at tech if you don't do that".....

Also, while he was doing that, I used the plasma cutter and brake to make the drivers and co-drivers foot well plates

Last night i welded in 14 small filler panels to cover the "Slotted" reliefs in the floor, and prepped the foot wells for welding today.

Building a spare shell. Eric Langbein is doing the amazing cage work...

The shell is now ready for paint & drivetrain (with the exception of 2 gussetts missing from the X in the main hoop in these pictures)
The floors have both been replaced with fresh sheetmetal (Actually the last set of new replacement mk2 VW floors in North America)
The rockers are doubled
The seat bases are installed
The areas around the front and rear strut towers have been seam welded....
Ordered some discount kevlar fabric and epoxy resin to make floor protection.

Finished my pin mounts, welded some plugs onto the shell, finished the fuel cell floor area, stitched the underside of the car, cleared off all the undercoating (ok, those two are reversed) and some other stuff. Thats all in the last week or so. Paint soon.

I've stopped making goals. Lol, life kicks my ass. Or school does. Or both sometimes. I'm hoping sometime this season.

Ditto, except that I use four pieces of linoleum, two back-to-back on each
side with grease in the middle. They're small 1x1's that I got for free
by dumpster-diving.

Someone once asked me what I used to align my car. Answer: Messenger Flats!
(Former Rim Of The World stage, known for knocking things out of alignment.)

For the van and subaru and anything I drive long distances in, I pay for a
laser alignment. When you're trying to get 60K miles out of a set of tires it
makes a difference. For the rallycar I'm mostly worrying about handling and
"reasonably close" is generally "close enough", especially since it'll likely
get knocked around a lot anyway.

almost finished my head back exhaust build and installation need to shorten my after cat pipe. no increase in diameter but the volume and flow should show some improvement.
scored a 24"x48"x1/4" plate aluminum of some grade (never had a skid plate before...).
next few weeks will be a used windscreen and a rear disk package.
would anyone highly recommend against the idea of widening the rear wheel base using plate between the beam and stub axle? 1/2" more width i think could help
shit i have got to switch to metric.
