Eddie, re your VW clutch problems
1) make sure that your pressure plate does not have any debris lodged "behind" the spring fingers/tines. 2) make sure that the disc that gets "pushed" by the release rod is not worn, bent, or otherwise malformed. 3) make sure that your clutch cable is installed and adjusted correclty--you DO have an adjustable cable no? Roughly 1 to 1 and 1/4" of free movement at the pedal before it begins to disengage.... We have had each of these problems before. ____________________________________________________________- One. Nothing. Again. Watching my bank account diminish and 4 mouths to feed (now only job is 'part-time' navy pilot in the Reserves). Also too much running (marathon training) and martial arts training to be able to justify then spending the night in the garage (when my wife is with two babies all day)! How do you do it JV (and others)?
Merkur sits with new intercooler/radiator installed. New front end fascia in the hatch, T5 bell waiting, Supra diff waiting. It's sorta depressing. Can't wait to get back to it though. TSS fab and JV have lotsa goodies. I think the next is the altenator/PS pump relocation and then finish intercooler/radiator plumbing. Then start working brakes suspenders and exhaust. Thanks for the thread...I need it to re-stoke the motivation! |

I fired up the Merkur on Monday. Plates expired back in September and didn't catch it. Have to get it legal so I can drive it to pick girl up from airport in a few weeks when she comes out to visit me.
The custom control arms are designed and being analyzed. Will probably build the first one in about two weeks. Grant Hughes |

Today I final-fitted my 'new' main hoop into the body shell. I made cardboard templates for the rear shock tower reinforcements, which is where the rear rollcage stays will be attached to, and figured my firewall configuration as well. Also test-fitted my driver's seat to the car, and got my final seating position figured (I think?).
