put the turbo back in the car...what a PITA.

car started and a short test drive went OK....turbo gauge not working, so I missed a hose somewhere sad smiley

I'll fix it later...doing this in the dark and in the rain (under a pop up) sucks.

I got tired of idle surge on my street Galant and so took the TB off the would-be rally car that's unregistered a year now, and swapped 'em out. Rock solid idle. I can deal with cold idle surge on a race car, not on a daily driver.

And since I consider my efforts to help a fellow rallyista clean/organize his shop as bartering towards his helping me build a roll cage, I've into double digit hours spent working towards that end.

I ordered all the materials for the pin-jack stand project, this should be fun.

I test fit the newly engineered focus front struts, fit like a dream. So I am going to have the other side built up. I will try and take some pictures in the next couple of days.

Also, I put new rear brakes on the daily driver Audi. I had a sticking caliper that had worn away the pad material and almost half of the backing plate. Maybe, when the burning smell subsided it was not a good thing.

Fabbed up a nice mount for the shift box to go ontop of the tunnel. Engineered a fancy plate system with nifty grommets to seal the cables to the firewall.

Started laying out the switch wiring and dash placement of gauges/brantz

David, you still looking for a 240?

It's an auto tragic and has the B20 Pushrod motor.. but it's flippin' close and wouldn't be that hard to convert.

I'd even buy the motor, if I had a place to put the damn thing.

I pulled the AC lines out of [195] so I can get AC installed in [464 - street] before we see 100* in the next few weeks. (Arizona can be brutal.)

Don't let Mr. Gore know, despite the AC system having a leak, there was a big, ozone-hating cloud when I cracked that first seal. *oops* R12 FTL.

OK stop this felt bussiness asap. It turns out kinda shitty and it's difficult to get it all smooth.
FLOCKING is SOOOOO much nicer and the stuff I get is actually real suede that's pulverized into powder.
Anyone who can't find flocking material locally should contact me and I can send you some. Not too expensive and a really nice and totally durable finish. (plus it looks so a la WRC) I've even done a couple dashes for street car fanboys meaning the end finish is up to the impossible standards of the average NASIOC jerk-off.

Flocking is like powder coating with glue (instead of heat) right? shoot a bunch of little powdered things at a gluey surface?
