Hell yeah! That's the kind of video that inspires me to get working on my Opel!

You know, if the 0 car drove like that on a U.S. rally I'm pretty sure the organizers would have them arrested....

Very nice driving , but not permissable for '0' car. We also couldn't have spectators on the outside of corners like that. We should line the course with attorneys instead of banner guard. Fun could be had then...

I disagree. Ideally, 000 and 00 should catch everything before car 0 goes out.

At one event, I co-drove in the first car on the road and Mark Utecht was car 0 in his Group N car. Mark drove the stages at something close to competitive speed and was allowed to finish the stage before we started. His feedback was sent back to the start and that was some of the most useful info that I have ever received at the start.

... and the National SP championship is not a poor joke ...

That was a cool vid, but I'm with Alan. Throwing that into the title is just taking a childish jab.

As per the Rally America Ops Manual:
>Car 000 will be primarily responsible for verifying the placement of
>all workers and control locations, assuring all bannering is correct
>and unbroken, clearing the course of any civilians, and assuring stage
>integrity has been achieved.

>Car 00 is charged with all of the above paying particular attention to
>spectator area containment and spectators not at approved viewing
>locations. They are also responsible for verifying route instructions
>for accuracy.

>Car 0 duplicates Car 00’s duties but typically will be running at speeds
>higher than that of the previous course opening vehicles. These are the
>last sets of eyes on the course prior to competition; they must review
>the road, start and finish controls, all marshal locations and spectator
>areas for event readiness. Any variance must be corrected before the stage
>is allowed to start.

The 0 car reviews the course just BEFORE the first competition car runs. Sweep checks the course AFTER the last competition car runs.

That was flat out awesome!! I especially love the shots through the windscreen of the car rotating and seeing the scenery in a panorama view!!

Since neither RA nor NRS require advance cars to be rally equipped such as helmets ,cages and fire suits speeds should be appropriate. When a car is actually at competition speeds then the driver and co-driver will be focusing on things other than spectators and side roads. The 0 should be run quickly but at sppeds that absolutely ensure it will finish the stage. Or require currently licensed competitors in full rally regalia run the 0 car. I have sat at the start of a stage for over an hour because 2 dumbasses in advance cars wrecked...think Olympus and Hollywood...
