Too bad there isn`t some club owned land or something that would drastically drop the costs. I know that`s not a new idea. Cheers, Andrew M Onterrible 30ish |

Toady in the WRC we have about 5 drivers that can win.
The 1981 RAC had these drivers with a chance of victory: Hannu Mikkola, Ari Vatanen, Stig Blomqvist, Pentti Airikkala, Jean Ragnotti, Terry Kaby, Anders Kulläng, Roger Clark, Rod Millen (I toss him in because 11th place and a US based driver), Henri Toivonen Markku Alén Guy Fréquelin Tony Pond Timo Salonen Björn Waldegård Michèle Mouton Jimmy McRae Russell Brookes Malcolm Wilson Lasse Lampi Bruno Saby, John Buffum (again may not really have had a chance but he was there) That is 20 cars not including a few others like Andrew Cowen who where dam fine drivers too. Fun to watch when there are 25 cars at the sharp end of the field. In the long run reality always wins. |

I know that this is Jens' same old broken record (well, not totally - usually 'mommie-mobile' is thrown in as well), but I really don't understand this criticism. Aside from a small number of exceptions, all rally cars are modified, econobox grocery-getters over most of the history of rally. |

------------------------------------------------------- > I thought Jens rallied a Camaro and an RX7... Ding, ding, ding. Almost complete, but you get the prize anyway. 1st rally car TSD was BMW 2002 (mostly in Colorado) 2nd rally car Pro Rally was Porsche 911 (Targa I might add, before the rule Nazis took over rally.) (That was Ohio) That car was a blast. 3rd rally car was my daily driver Camaro, but I entered it in some Pro Rallies. (Colorado and Ohio) 4th rally car TSD and Pro Rally was Mazda RX-7 (more of a stage cruiser, because I didn't want to invest lots of time and money, nor damage it). (Connecticut) My current car isn't being used due to my medical problems, but is an RX-7 with a 5.0 liter V8. So no to the dude with his thong stuck in his ass: I don't currently own a Porsche, but I would if I could. As for JVL: bite me ya commie. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 03/26/2009 06:47AM by Jens. |
