I know RA isn't handing out waivers to rookies anymore, but do 18 NASA coeff's still xfer over to RA on regards to running an open class car or notes or whatever?

Hey Ben. Tumbleweed Express is being rescheduled. I know it's only one coefficient, but it's about 30 miles and Sunday only for $140. And most of us will be camping out there for the event. Drive out here Saturday, party and camp, recce, tech, and race on Sunday, camp and party Sunday night, drive home Monday. They've not announced the new date, but I'm guessing they're going to go for Memorial Day weekend.
Or, since your towing here once already, come out for Temple Canyon Hill Climb May 9-10, then Tumbleweed, the Buena Vista Hill Climb June 27-28th. We camp on site at all three events, the hill climbs are 2.5-4 miles per run, six runs on same road per weekend, $175 entry, $75 membership. Then there's Grand Junction which is a sweet 5.5 mile race near the end of August.

Unless I am mistaken RA has removed the restriction on notes.

Hey Grant, where exactly is the Tumbleweed Express rally at?
I dunno if I'll make it to CO this year to compete at all, it seems like I can only afford enough for one rally, and that's Idaho this year. If Tumbleweed is close enough, I'll try to make it, or maybe Grand Junction, we'll see.
But I do plan on being at RC to volunteer this year, and I'm shooting for running in it next year.

Tumbleweed is being held at CORE on a new 8.1 mile track we built. It's pretty rad with some fast flowing segments, slow tight technical stuff, few little jumps, one Finland jump, elevation changes, etc. with no trees in sight.
I was originally planning on doing Idaho. A wedding that weekend, not a lot of money, and no tow vehicle has led me to decide to just do the Colorado Rally Cup events and improve on the car.

Well we have one that you sail about 40-50 feet if you hit it flat out straight on, if you go 8 feet to the inside you just unweight the suspension.
But the finland jump is a flat out fast section that's mostly flat, maybe a slight uphill, then a bit of a crest/jump, and the road drops away at a good downhill incline. Don't know that anyone's hit it flat out to see how well you can sail off of it.

If you're a complete rookie, your co-driver needs to have like 20 or something silly for you to use notes.

Or, if you were like me, in my first event I was allowed notes because my co-driver had run notes before (even though he had less than the 20 or w/e it was).

Bottom line, you should be good to run notes if you already have run notes before. Just email Rally America and they'll grant you a waiver.

I'll state it once more ... I believe RA has removed the coefficient requirements for notes as of this year. There is no mention of it in the RA rule book.

Technically, it's 9 coefficients to get a Provisional license, instead of a Novice license.
Rules used to say you remained a Seed 8 until that point, and that was what restricted Novices from using notes. Seed stuff has all been removed so Keith is correct.
