I'm just wondering how many events the average rallyist goes to a single season.

Did 7 last year and crewed/worked another 4. The most I ever did was 9 (I think) and again crewed/worked a bunch more when not co-driving. This season will be entirely dependent on the economy.

For it is all about time and money.

Seems that when I have time I lack money.... When I have money I lack time.

I did a few seasons of not missing an event. Those were good times.

I did one stage rally, two hill climbs, and three testing days in 2008.
I spent around $7500 on rallying during 2008, not including booze. But there was quite a few final touches on the car expenses during the early part of the year. This year I will probably do about the same number plus one additional hill climb and maybe one more stage rally. In 2010 I hope to do more stage rallies as my income gets a good bump upward in October.

I have averaged 4.5 / Year over the last 3. Not sure how many I will get to this year since I am getting a late start.

I've competed in an average of 4.25/year since my first event. (which was the last event that year)
That's about 4.6/year since my first full season and 2003 was a one event year for me as a competotor.

The number changes somewhat if you look at the number of events 'participated in' (IE organised) or attended.

Over the past decade, probably crewed or worked an average of three per year. I don't think I've ever gone to a rally to just spectate.

In recent years...

2007 I was low rent service crew (I can change a Subaru gearbox in 14 hours grinning smiley ) at four Canadian Nationals and two Rally America events.

2008 I was crew at four Canadian nationals, did not attend any US events.

2009 Worked Team O'Neil rally, I might go work New England Forest.

Yeah Hoche, what do you mean by "go"? Just be there? Compete? The first is nearly untrackable.

2-3/year is generally what we can afford to compete in competitively...we could probably do 3-5 if I didn't care about finishing well overall.
