Actually most everybody i speak to is just a bit more polite.
You failed to read what I pointed out and which is obvious:
There are countless forums for boys like you to post piccies of foo-foo shit like this.
It is uninteresting.
It is especially uninteresting not in Off Topic.

You know that.
You may be amazingly uninformed of the world, but you are not basically stupid.
Thus, you know there are other forums where the main purpose is to yap about unimportant peripheral nonsense, yet posting it here mean you intend to flaunt it.

These are rally drivers, having fun, at a rally.

Sounds related to me.

First of all, for the record, nobody has ever been injured by my potato gun. And not for lack of trying... Second of all Gordon Gaude had a swing bike at Oregon Trail in 2003 and I, as well as others, rode it in the service area at the blimp hangar. So these guys are all FOLLOWERS! It's been DONE! OLD NEWS!! Andrew Havas even took pictures of me riding it but I never got a whole thread devoted to it like these hero boys! I demand recognition of being a LEADER, not a FOLLOWER!

Oh yeah, and those swing bikes are really damn hard to ride, too...

That would imply that you are polite to begin with ... a bit of a stretch. (Not saying what you really want to doesn't mean you're being polite)

From the Rally Anarchy 'rules'
"We wanted a place to talk openly, especially if it's in a yakking-around-the-garage after dropping-in-an-engine kind of friendly banter. Think of Rally Anarchy as the local clubhouse you probably have never had. Swearing is OK, but don't go overboard.
"One of the things you won't find here is 834,234 different forums for every different country, region, state, province, city, neighborhood, gender, shoe size, sexual preference or hair colour. If you've got something to say, why don't you say it to the whole class, hmmmm?"

Beyond that, the consensus in this thread is that while the images are really kinda 'meh' there isn't really a problem with them being shared here. At no point did I see anyone suggest these were 'super hero' actions or that they were breaking new ground with swing bikes.

Get over it ... its 'regular guys' having fun at a regrouping control.

2003? And I missed it? Damn!

Are you sure that it was at the blimp hangar? I am pretty sure that we used an area just off Hwy 6 for service in 2003. The blimp hangar was last used in 2002.

Anyway, Dave, you all know that are a leader, not a follower. Is that enough recognition?

I lied. Mark was apparently tired of filming by that night. We have about 8-10 hours of footage to sort through from this weekend.

Dave,

You are an inovator!

Alan,

"Travis on the swing bike is far less risky (thus less stupid) than much of the other stuff that he does while representing SRT USA in a championship. Jumping out of a plane without a parachute? Base-jumping into the Grand Canyon? The double back flip?

As I said, Travis is an adult. He is also an expert in throwing away results by doing something stupid.

Besides, since Travis probably brings a significant portion of the sponsorship to the team, he probably has some freedom to screw up."

You are quit right about that!

Robert.

One could argue that TP's sponsors would get more value out of A "Pastrana Swingbike FAIL!!! OMG!!1! LOLZ!!!" video on YouTube than out of an RA win. Just look at the Block videos everywhere...

But it would be really crass and cynical to think something like that.

Timm thanks for posting the pics, they illustrate a human element of a bunch of guys who are at the top or near the top of their sport in North America.

A lot of fun beyond them talking their sponsors up, signing autographs, or all the other PR bullshit that is necessary to keep the ball rolling when not behind the wheel.

As for the critism of these pictures being posted... it's impossible to please everyone, but who really gives a shit about that ?

Timm, do you have any more ?

Speaking of Potato guns :

I do, but at the moment, they are at the bottom of my upload priorities. I have Wreck Creek pics to post, as I only have Palix, sweep, and these up at the moment. And Car 224's pics. I'll get some more up soon though

You're probably right, it must have been 2002. See? I'm even more of leader, it was a whole year earlier!

Had I only known I would have brought my potato cannon to the regroup control and who knows what kind of mayhem would have ensued?
