Ah yes, there is John Lane proudly brandishing my Hotrod Air Cannon. That would have been Oregon Trail 2003, before I painted it purple.

The funny about this whole post is it got more attention/posts than the one on SS.

rally gods would turn in their graves if they ever knew Lada's were now part of EU rallying!!!

no jvl on ss to bitch about it

so, I suppose it's a good thing when he doesn't like something, it creates more posts than usual

or something like that

Again I will try to make clear to all you nice people that my "bitching" the boy Timmy is in the context of hios posting this fluff here, while saying his Intraweb-ese "meh" over on the thread showing some really impressive, very fast and very good Volvo action.

The irony, if there is any, is that the what he is 'meh-ing" about is action, and is action that one would think the boy might be interested in since it is a clubman built front engined, rear wheel drive car, just a scaled up version of what he's been building now for a few years
.
The fact that what he was seeing is very much faster in those conditions than anything he's seen over here and he blows it off with a flippant dismissal, is well, odd to be polite.

Taken in context of the two posts from the same time, and his whining responses, I really don't think bitching is the word. More like chastising a recalcitrant child.
Remember, this is in the main a VERBAL form of communication, and had we be all hanging out and TALKING and some mere kid who has not ever done a single stage had said ""I ain't impressed with that silly Volvo" I do not believe anybody would have "discussed" that comment, I believe people would have shouted "What the fuck, kid? You can't be serious".

Of course on the webzerz it seems people just love to go "cluck, cluck, tsk tsk"

And in general there is generally more posts and more views here, than "there".

Well maybe you had to be there, the swing bike thing was kinda fun to watch. The top stars in our sport were largely celebs before they got here. They are quite approachable and actually fun to be around most of the time. Just guys doing guy stuff while waiting at a re-group.

I remember the old days when many of the front runners would hardly give you the time of day, never cracked a smile, never seemd to have any fun.

The Volvo clip was ok, not really awe inspiring, didn't seem any faster than Lanes ( which is plenty fast enough for me) , certainly not faster than our top 5 or 6 cars.

Certainly didn't seem controversial enough to have such a response..

John, you seem very bitter. Now you can pick me apart since I love RX-7's, which I concede you're partial to nothing. Have at it, I'm an easy target. This post makes me pissed at myself for coming here ater a long time away for the same reason, way more bullshit than SS (because of you JVL) and I hate it over there too.

"In general, I generally feel that the geneneral consensus of the general public is generally general."

Do I win for using the word general more than JVL? Did I make your day John? Now you have another target.

Millen was nice to everyone, so wa DiMarco and a few others (mostly west coast guys) . There were several other drivers, possibly from a different geographical area that were not quite so friendly. Happily those days are over.

I was a kid, so most people were nice to me, I guess luckily those aren't memories I have.

English translation pleas.

Anybody know whet means phrase "partial to nothing"?

Oh and I have recommended RX7s to people and have sung the benefits of the second gen ones, and talked at length to my old friend Jake Himes about grafting in the whole front crossmember into his first gen car so he could get decent hubs, brakes, calipers and a steering rack. And his brother did in fact graft in the front end..
I must have been bitter about that, huh?

Note to Cable: they're RWD and cheap and available. Not my choice but thopse qualituies means they're OK in my book and fun.

Have at it, I'm an easy

No, you have no impact at all. UPS man brought some rear Bilsteins i was waiting to pack and ship.
My 4 year old drew a picture of a big dragon and showed me she's being diligent on learning ASL for fun, my friend Jay Woodward called and was overjoyed that there was instant progress on tearing down the Toyota All-Trac trans we found and picked up for him and Tim Taylor which they will be installing in their Maz-dog 323s.
And CP Pistons said the pistons for a Finnish guy are ready, Finnish guy wrote he's thrilled.

People I don't know don't make my day.

Now you have another
> target.

Not interested Cable.
>

Cable, you say I sound bitter yet you're pissed, everything is bullshit, and you hate it there, too.

Now it seems to me that the majority of what I've seen you write is mostly in the same vein as far as I can recall. But I'm an optimist by nature, so I don't conclude you're bitter or hate everything and everybody, I don't conclude.
I don't know you, I don't think I want to know you but I have mostly a feeling of confusion, and dismissal.

And what you read in your own mind as as "bitter" in my words, is not bitter, it's mostly, bafflement and exasperation.

See, maybe you don't know it but there are a range of emotions and states of mind, not just love and hate.
