Timm,
You don't know me but I went through the same garbage with scam, I found a cheque that I overpaid him and he never returned my phone calls after I told him, it was only a $325 mistake. I spelled it out on one thread awhile back when I was trying to sell a Xr-cossy that he screwed these people on. He can try and rip me up but my reputation back here in the east stands on its own. Nobody back here takes anything he states with any credibility. I know of at least 2 people would only show him the business side (can you say bright ball of flame) of a .45 if he ever stepped on their property. I do have some advice though, go out and buy a decent welder like a lincoln or miller (used about $400-$500) and start doing your own fab work. When you screw up, just redo it, and you won't be pissed at someone doing it wrong and charging you out the ass for it. You have to remember a lot of pre-group-b or better known as group-4 race and rally cars were built at the factory level by guys with files and welders. The reason they looked and worked well is because of experience (which you don't have but will gain with time) and patience to do it to the best of their ability, aka pride. The next best thing is get the factory rally manuals for your car and try and copy what they did to a tee. I've learned that the factory pays their engineers a lot of money to do it right so use their experience for your benefit. If you don't have any manuals, get the ford ones or the race fab books from the UK, it's worth the cost.

Chris,

Isn't copying the factory cars what John tells everyone to do?

Timm,

I think John posted the Ford Motorsports books on line. They are a good resource to see how the factory did things.

Robert.

Timm has welders in the garage and is building a pretty nice, well thought out Corolla. He asks questions, listens to answers and is doing a very good job.

Hi Robert,
You know I never really look for what scam does or tells people to do,it just sounded like he was picking on the kid for not knowing. If he does tell people to look at what the factory did that then that is a very smart thing to do. If I remember it was TAL of the UK that posted them then they were told to take them off for copyright or something. That was years ago though but if it was posted after I would have no idea, I have them all on hard copy.
Oh Gene, I am glad Timm has a good set up, his car should turn out well, much better then my first one by leaps and bounds. I wish him the best of luck and he is doing it right, unlike me dicking around with that pig of an Audi that I couldn't survive a rally to save my life in. Later

Hey guys,

Thanks for the encouragement, and Gene, thank you for the kind words.

Robert, I've got the ford books, and they've been pretty helpful.

Chris, Thanks.

I'll get some pictures up sometime, I'm horrible about that. I've finally got the fuel cell cage welded in, both floor pans are in (I fabricated my own to get rid of the catalytic converter hump so the seats can go lower), and one 4 link box is 80 per cent done.

It's going slow due to school (who would have thought you'd write so many papers in college???), and me going through a small "Enjoy the sun!" phase. They just opened new trails 15 minutes from my house!

Tim, interested in pics of the fuel cell cage - the new fuel cell is being ordered next week and I need some ideas/motivation
