WHO THE FUCK CARES.

I am sick of this "eco footprint" BULLSHIT.

Everyone who complains about their footprint on the planet should show us the way by tearing down their house/apartment block/farm/whatever, planting wild trees, and living in a hole in the ground. Don't hold a job, don't drive a car, in fact tear up some roads while you're at it.

We have already seriously altered the planet by putting up tons of buildings, roads, demolished forest in order to plant vast tracts of grain or allow meat animals to graze... and people are worried about some tire tracks in the woods where nobody goes anyway?

Give me a break!

The tracks in the forest are a red herring and not the real environmental concern.
The real question is if we can work to offset the impact we create then why not.

I recycle because I can and I recognise that not recycling is bad.

If I am looking at two virtually identical products and there is nothing that strongly differentiates them, I will look at packaging to make a choice.

So, if we can make moves towards offsetting our eco impact why wouldn't we.

maybe us guys with BIG BLOCK SWAPS should look towards smaller, more fuel efficient motors.... 1.3L Fuel Injected Ford Festiva's all the way, Geo Metro's too... Toyota Echo, Yaris... Chevy Aveo? Honda Insight or Fit?

=)

how is the H6 btw? trans has not exploded yet?

Pete,

I think that you are over simplifying the issue.

Keith,

I agree 100%.

Brian, I did break some of the WRX transmissions in non-rally applications (rallycross) but now I have a STi tran i there. One rally on it and it seems super solid.

is it AWD or RWD? i couldnt find any pictures on your site of the underside. are you going to bring it to RTN??? i gotta look at it sometime. i didnt even know that it was something odd when i saw it at WV last year.

the H6 3.0 swap might be the best bet for my future RWD Outback Sport!!

The Green/Eco movement is a con, if you bought into it you were conned. All that the movement has done has increased costs and greased palms, everything is still being done when money exchanges hands. Cap and trade = con, global warming = con, climate change = con, carbon foot print = con.

The folks that are pushing these agendas the hardest usually are making money from it, follow the money and one finds the source of the problem = a greedy A-Hole con man laughing all the way to the bank.

Earth day was created by psycho murderer (unicorn killer), he is now in prison in the united states. The guy is a nut case and yet people follow ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ira_Einhorn (Yes the same Arlen Specter that just switched political parties in Pennsylvania ...)

This stuff is crap and we know it deep inside ourselves, we know it because we get out in the woods and we see the truth, we see it with our own eyes even though someone is trying to tell us we don't. Use the brain more and the agenda pushing media less ...

Earth Day was created by Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson, not Ira Einhorn.

Don't want to get in a fight with you here, but I really don't think it is crap and what I know deep inside is that the climate is changing.

I feel that, as usual, the truth lies somewhere between the two sides. Spewing poison into the environment can't be good for much of anything. There is no doubt that Gore and a whole bunch of folks like him are making sick tons of $$ on the green thing (while they fly around in their private jets), and that destroys any credibility they might have had. So that's a con.

I like what JVL said about stadiums. That pisses me off too.

Einhorn was active in ecological groups and was an icon of the counterculture, anti-establishment and anti-war movements of the 1960s and 1970s. At one time, he was a friend and contemporary of Jerry Rubin and Abbie Hoffman. He also claimed to have been instrumental in creating Earth Day in 1970, and during the first Earth Day event, which was televised globally, Ira Einhorn was on stage as master of ceremonies, although other event organizers dispute his account.[1] He was known to some of his friends as "the Unicorn" because the name Einhorn (a German-Jewish name) means "unicorn".

Earth Day, celebrated in the US on April 22, is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment. It was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in in 1970 and is celebrated in many countries every year. This date is Spring in the Northern Hemisphere and Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere.

Both from wikipedia ...

As we see there is a disput over this ...

Earth's climate has always changed, that is the nature of our plant, the Green/climate change is an agenda nothing more and it is about power and money, it's a con game!
Why was the name changed from "Global Warming" to "Climate Change"...

What was your point in quoting this? Also, Wikipedia is not an authoritative source. See Stephen Colbert's Wikiality exercises for confirmation.

Aside from "Earth's climate has always changed", I disagree.

> Why was the name changed from "Global Warming" to

Both terms are correct. The global trend is warming. However, in some locations, things will get cooler before they get warmer.

Yes, the global temperature is rising. As a kid in the early 80's I remember seeing 30 below in coastal Maine. The bay froze over. Not so much anymore. We rarely see 20 below. It is definitely changing, but is it the carbon emmisions or is it just a normal cycle? Who the hell knows? The answer is nobody. We can't listen to the greenies because they are corrupted by $$ a-la Gore. We can't listen to the conservatives because they write it all off as a left wing scare tactic.
Common sense says we should try to be good stewards... but we also have to understand that we all have a negative impact if we live in the modern world. I once gave a hitch-hiker a ride out in the Seattle area. He was very proud of his not owning a car... but he didn't hesitate to ride in my turbocharged miata. Hipocritical.
Rally cars certainly aren't clean or good for the environment... but they are less than a drop in the bucket. Just like JVL says... those people preventing our use of roads for green reasons probably don't think twice about going for a powerboat ride, or about the impact of a baseball game.
Don't even get me started on Obamas leftist energy policies. Some good (let's try to get off the foreign oil crack pipe), but mostly misguided politics I'm afraid.

Not really hypocritical since you had an empty seat and were heading in the same direction anyways.

Turbocharged miata - your moms car ?

Now if it was the Racing Beat rotary Miata, then I'd give you a pass on my sarcasm. smiling smiley

Perhaps. He's still using fossile fuels to get from A to B.

Flyin Miata turbo. Standalone, intercooled. It's definitely not a rally car, but it's crazy fast, and with rwd, short wheelbase, and an LSD it's a blast to drive... although I don't much anymore due to two kids.
