my bad, that was the news going around service just afterwards, obviously just a rumor.

He did go off, but about 20 feet before Eddie's.

got some fun video of John Black and I hitting the 'man made' jump today.

I didn't know at the time. I just saw Adam driving the truck. Robert teched their car in their service area, so I never saw it run until the middle of the rally.

Ah, we were wondering on Sat if that's what had happened or if they'd decided that having it was too embarrassing, tee hee

Jim! Did you find a Colorado team to ride with? We were all so beat up after the heavy night of drinking then waking at 6:30 to get on the road. I actually don't remember much of before Salt Lake City and remembered that you were going to hitch a ride to Laramie. Sorry if you didn't, but it was great to meet you regardless!

That's because it didn't happen.

I spoke with them in the service area after I ran into you when I came back to the rally on Saturday. The stories about another car hitting Eddie's were just rumors. It sounds like the story about what happened to them on that stage just got worse and worse each time someone told the story.

alan

P.S. My Idaho Rally random update. Flew into Boise on Thursday. Picked up my rental car. Drove to Mountain Home. Teched a bunch of cars. Talked to some people. Got the last hotel room at the Best Western (a smoking room). On Friday, saw the cars off. Drove to my great grandmother's grave near Gannett, ID (it is in a small cemetery behind a farm, across a prairie and a bit of a hike). Went to the Blaine Co. Historical Museum to look for records of my family (found nothing there). Went to Craters of the Moon N.M. and hiked there for a while. Went to EBR-1 (the first nuclear power plant), near Arco, ID. Drove down to Utah, but avoided going into the state because I didn't have maps. Then proceeded to get lost because my Idaho map was wrong about a way to get from I-15 to I-84 without going into Utah (ended up using Google Maps on my iPhone to get un-lost). Stayed the night in Burley, ID because some of my family settled there in the 1910s. On Saturday, went to Idaho Falls and checked out the Perrine Bridge and Shoshone Falls, Walked the canyon rim trail at the Falls. Stopped by Mountain Home on the way to Boise and get suckered in to help with post-event scrutineering. Hung around the service area, catching up with what happened during the rally on Friday. Then hid out in the rally motor coach because I can't take warm weather anymore. Talked rally stuff with Donna Hocker, Tom Burgess, Jens (the organizer). Worked out post-rally scrutineering with Gene. Drove up to Boise after the rally. Tried to see what I could see in Boise before the sun went down. This morning, caught a flight home. Surprised that I only put 800 miles on the rental.

Hi! (turns out I had signed up a year ago, and never did anything with it).

I'll post my videos up as well, once they're properly youtubed.

merilee, where were you posted? I was looking for you, but only at timing controls cause I was co-driving and didn't have time to look around on stage winking smiley

I was in the red ranger pickup, we were in the back of the pack.

Ah, we saw that truck slither by a few times!

We worked road block on stage 1 just before the campground, then found we couldn't get onto stages 4 and 5 to spectate (didn't try since we'd heard other workers from stage 1 weren't being allowed) so headed into town and dinked around. I had tried to get assigned to work on Saturday with no luck, so on the way back to the campground on Friday we drove through the stage and found where we wanted to watch from that wasn't the spectator area. Found an amazing place (which is how we met Aaron who just posted) and hung out there all day. I stopped by the banquet for long enough for Scott Huhn to offer us to let us shower at his hotel (all praise Scott our cleanliness savior) but we didn't stay since my friend was low on blood sugar (we got her fixed up, but she wasn't feeling well enough yet for so many people in such a small room).

Anywoo, would have been nice to meet you too. It was really weird not working any controls, heck, only working one stage. Hopefully my friends pictures will turn out (out of the 1500 or more she took) and we'll get some posted here in a few days. Maybe even one or two of the Ranger.

I noticed that the link Aaron posted has some of your truck in there.

Will you be up here for Wild West or Mt Hood? (not sure if I can make it to WW)

Grant- Unfortunately I didn't get a ride back to Laramie. Perhaps not enough communication. The Anti-Cristy and I hung out at Service until noon on Sunday and put plan B into action. No hard feelings. It was great fun meeting you and some of the other Anarchy folks!!! GREAT videos, you (and your team) do an AWESOME job covering the events. Hope to see you and meet more Anarchy folks at Wild West and the rest of the fall season.

Robert and I talked to Paul Eklund and we are planning to run a stage crew training seminar at Paul's Rally school in October. Stay tuned for more details.
